to secure the blessings of influence and pork to themselves and their (political) posteriors

Now we are finally in agreement. This is the problem. Republicans want pork for their own districts.

This convenient historical revisionism of yours is just more of the same denial.

You like to accuse people of denial, I suspect this is just projection on your part you really should see a specialist about it.

Listen troll I'm done with this conversation. It has devolved to a Monty Python skit about arguments. You obviously are the type that has no religion and treats politics as your brand of religion. So believe what you will I can't argue religion without knowing something of the religion you belong to. But from what you have posted so far I can tell you I won't be bothering delving any deeper.

I may be a troll, but at least I can count.

The Republicans had control of the Senate 1981-87, and both houses from 1994 to 2006

So, from 1979-2009 (thirty years) the dims controlled both houses from 1979-1981, then 1988-1994, then 2006-2009.

The dims controlled both houses for 10 years of the last 3 decades. That is not most of the last 3 decades. Indeed, out of the last 3 decades the Republicans had control of both houses more than the democrats, and when you count the presidency as well, the Republicans get far more blame for the wayward direction of this country than the democrats.

It is not part of my religion to think that any politicians are good. It seems to be part of yours to think that the republicans are better than the democrats.
