ABC’s Nightline Faceoff on Satan an Exercise in Futility
Cross Action News ^ | 3-27-09 | Rev. Michael Bresciani

Most debates never settle anything and are usually held so someone can be proclaimed a winner; even if they are dead wrong. In a world where popular acceptance is the new morality what might we expect? Can we eliminate the father of lies with an opinion? Let’s see.

ABC’s ‘Nightline’ Face-Off: Does Satan Exist moderated by Dan Harris and aired on Thursday March 26, 2009 ignored both scriptural admonishments from Romans 1:29 and 1Corinthians 12:20 that warn against entering into debates to try to prove the faith to anyone. Christianity can only proclaim the gospel for best effect. The rest is up to the hearer.

Why did they stage such a debate on television without a serious Christian theologian or trained exorcist with experience on such matters? It was dishonest. They did not present the facts on diabolical possession, demonic attacks, and supernatural evil, to the viewers. ABC is dishonest.

Only those full of demons would try to say they didn’t exist.

It seems that Satan never appears until humans are well on the scene alredy.

One God. Not two, three, tens, hundreds or thousands.

Chopra’s attacks on Christian theology were tiresome liberal clichés. Suggesting that the antiquity of biblical theology, for instance, is “primitive” as he did is ironic. His New Age ideas are just as ancient. Just because something is old doesn’t make it primitive.

Considering ABC is possessed by the devil, what more is there to prove?

Very true. Chopra also came off as a giant douche.

The entire liberal media are tools of satan, the father of all lies.

Probably because serious theologians are just that: Serious.

As for trained exorcists (Catholic at least), well, they are very camera shy.

The Vatican has intense investigations prior to approving exorcisms. They believe that exorcisms should be carried out in cases that are extraordinary and rare.

Would ABC put someone on the air ridiculing the beliefs of Islam, Hinduism, or Buddhism? Chopra is not an expert on Christianity, theology, or diabolical possession. It was an absurd program. I had not realized NIGHTLINE has gotten that bad. The only thing you can conclude is that they deliberately omitted experts on the subject to spin things in an anti-Christian direction, presenting a caricature of Christian beliefs and Christianity.

Anyone who knows anything about Scripture knows that Satan must LOVE this. One of his favorite tactics is to convince people that he doesn't exist (and thereby ensure their eventual presence in hell with him). This program is doing his work for him.

Wow, he must be lovin' it!!!

Expect more of it with their people in political power, and with Gitmo detainees possible release in USA with welfare, it shows the devil is controlling media, politicians and rats more than formerly known. Terrorists from Gitmo will be entitled to free lawyers on taxpayer dollars.

Sweeping changes are coming in these bills, like the Food Modernization ACT, if passed, may make laws that affect growing a garden or buying at a open air market from local farmers. This is getting out of hand, and NO ONE group can get a handle on it, as the demrats have decided not to listen to dissenters, and ignore emails.

This is only first 100 days, just what will they be able to do in four years?? All those religions you mentioned will be protected and christians persecuted, it doesn’t look good. And many don’t know the 3104 and 6104 areas of HR1388 are detrimental to our children and grandchildren, as those are about mandatory service (6104) and 3104 (not allowed to participate in church, religion or expression of faith)...that is a violation of 1st Amendment. WE have the “freedom of religion” and not the “freedom from religion”. The Constitution is being trampled on every day....remember apathy has cost us a great deal these past 8 yrs.

Ayers standing on the US Flag...that’s what this is all about. Until America stands up and says “NO”, just expect it to go on and on...noone is organized enough to stop it,,,,,they have planned this since 2000, and it would have been here sooner if Gore or Kerry could have gotten in. The media is in their pocket and with colleges and schools teaching communism it is a sweeping agenda.

They are trying to marginalize religion with a propaganda campaign of ridicule.

I have witnessed more activity that I would deem demonic, particularly in the political realm, in the last 6-8 years than in my entire lifetime of 65 years! Strange...but predictable as the Second Coming looms ever closer!

I didn’t see the program (no big loss) but have always expected Chopra along with certain other unsavory characters such as Winfrey to be key players in the formation of a “One World Religion”, which won’t be a religion of God at all.

To be sure. demonic activity can take place on both sides of the political spectrum, but I have never before witnessed an actual front man for Satan occupy the Presidency.

At a CISPES function!

CISPES was one of those lefty pro-Sandinista groups that was so popular among the Catholic left in the 1980s—the pro-abortion Catholic left, btw.

CISPES—I remember—Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador. Only, you had to shift gears immediately before saying “El Salvador” and say “Elll Salllvadddhhorrr.”
