This morning on CNBC hosts Mark Haynes and Erin Burnett challenged Rep. Charlie Rangel (at about the 5:15 mark in the below video) on his alleged ethics violations after he railed against Wall Street executives for "violating the public trust." Rangel insists in the exchange with Haynes and Burnett that he will be cleared of any wrongdoing by the House ethics committee. No doubt the political fix is in.

Photo of Charlie Rangel at the podium of a March 19th, 2005 Workers World Party/Troops Out Now rally in Harlem, New York. The occasion marked the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Iraq war. The photo comes from the ("We are proud to have known Kim Il Sung as a great leader and a comrade in the international communist movement. ...") Workers World Party website.
Also appearing at this "peace" rally with the demonRat Charlie Rangel, now chairman of The House Ways and Means Committee, were Saddam Hussein lawyer, Ramsey Clark and convicted terrorist enabler/attorney, Lynne Stewart. Clark, with Workers World Party, started up that other 'peace' group, A.N.S.W.E.R. Clark also heads the International Action Center and was actually once Attorney General of the United States under democrat LBJ.

Behind the Placards
The odd and troubling origins of todays anti-war movement
David Corn, November 07, 2002
"Officially, the organizer of the Washington demonstration was International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War & End Racism). But ANSWER is run by WWP activists, to such an extent that it seems fair to dub it a WWP front. Several key ANSWER officials -- including spokesperson Brian Becker -- are WWP members. Many local offices for ANSWERs protest were housed in WWP offices. Earlier this year, when ANSWER conducted a press briefing, at least five of the 13 speakers were WWP activists. They were each identified, though, in other ways, including as members of the International Action Center.
The IAC, another WWP offshoot, was a key partner with ANSWER in promoting the protest. It was founded by Ramsey Clark, attorney general for President Lyndon Johnson in the 1960s."
There will be no House ethics committee “hearing” on Rangel or anyone else. ‘swhy he sure there will be no finding of guilt.
I bet Barney Frank is jealous.
No thanks for that visual.
LOL! Beat me to it!
I work in NY and still don’t understand how enough people around me keep voting for this crook (and Chuck-U Schumer too).
Everyone on the ethics committee who was investigating Rangel has left the committee.
So, there is no such thing as an ‘ethics’ investigation when it comes to Rangel or any other dem.
That's news to me. Last thing I knew, they hadn't even completed their investigations on all the charges he filed against himself. But you're right...the fix is in.
Accusations against Rangel are false reporting on false reports by reporters. Unnamed and uncited accusations against employees of companies receiving bailout funds are sufficient for Rangel to write legislation penalizing those employees with confiscatory taxes.
Makes perfect sense.
Sure it does, to double dealing, fast talking, unindicted tax cheats like Rangel.
It’s quite simple. They’re voting for political party labels not for the person or for what they stand for. You could hide $100k in your freezer and still get elected as a Democrat.
