Remember Jack Abramoff, the lobbyist who spread money around as if it were peanut butter and Washington, DC were a slice of white bread?

The media felt it was their patriotic duty to expose the recipients of his largess, especially since most of them were Republicans.

Have you seen any headlines announcing that Bernie Madoff, the perpetrator of the biggest Ponzi scheme in history, was a huge Democrat donor? Well, he was. Here’s how OpenSecrets.org reports it:......

Good job, good post!

Republicans need to scream this stuff from the rooftops:

The financial mess was CAUSED by DEMOCRATS!

“In total, he and his wife, Ruth, have given $238,200 to federal candidates, parties and committees since 1991, with Democrats getting 88 percent of that. Overall, Madoff and other individuals at his company, Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities, gave $372,100 in campaign contributions since 1991, with 89 percent to Democrats. The firm spent $590,000 on lobbying in the last 11 years, all but $10,000 of it with the lobbying firm of Lent, Scrivner & Roth.

The media demanded that Republican politicians return Abramoff’s donations and his money wasn’t even stolen. When will they begin demanding that Democrat politicians return Madoff’s stolen money?

It says a lot about the current political environment that this guy would confess to being a crook, but keep quiet about being a Democrat.”

From the link.

Madoff, Geitner, Obama’s stimulus, Pelosi’s promise of more...

The dems are helping erase the memories of the Republicans’ crazy spending ways. If only the Republicans could now say “OK, we were wrong in the past, we’re getting back to our prinicples after all that foolish overspending.”

Then I look at Ron Paul’s earmarks and realize I’m being silly. The Republicans are satisfied with whatever wins they’ll get from being the party out of power.

A lot of weaklings in government, a lot of “conservatives” who can’t speak articulately about conservative principles, a lot of “Republicans” who are Washingtonians first.

The fix is in.

Republicans can scream it from the rooftops from now until hell freezes over, and MSM will give it a pass.

"Bernie Madoff would rather be known as a crook than as a Democrat..."

A distinction without a difference.

The firm spent $590,000 on lobbying in the last 11 years, all but $10,000 of it with the lobbying firm of Lent, Scrivner & Roth.

Lent Scrivner Roth's own political contributions seem to be weighted heavily toward Democrats. The list of recipients.

“Crook” + “Democrat” = “Redundant”

Liberty isn't safe until people realize that...

"Crook" + "Politician" = "Redundant"

Our problem is that Americans automatically look to government populated w/ politicians to solve every problem and address every grievance.

"How do you tell if a politician is lying?" "Their lips are moving."

It's just the nature of these people to believe that all they have to do is give a speech or smear some ink on paper and the problem disappears. It doesn't. The problem is that we believe them when they tell us this lie.

We should know better. They never will, no matter what their stripe.
