Youre traveling from a dimension of raucous applause to one curiously subdued, even tepid. It is a dimension not only of oorahs but one of mild clapping. A journey into a proud land of service and country, if you dare. The next stop up ahead, the Semper Fi zone.
Some presidents are welcome in the Semper Fi zone
others
. not so much.

Amazing. The military loved Bush. For Obama they can't even be bothered to clap for his appearances!

Hilarious and heartwarming at the same time. Thanks for the post.

On behalf of fellow conservatives and from the bottom of my heart, I apologize to the US military and their families for what the American electorate has done.
I tried to warn people, as did countless others.
I am not sure the American public, as a whole, is worthy of our military’s brave and selfless sacrifices.
Sad to say, but my true opinion.

This is hilarious, what are there, like 4 people clapping when Barry enters the room?

I’m not an expert on this - was in military for 10 years though - but think the troopers are required to stand at attention during “Ruffles and Flourishes” when the Prez enters - not real sure...but LOVE the sentiments - the Obambi admin (like the Clintionistas) no NOTHING about the military and could care less...

I’m disappointed that I didn’t hear any boos from the audience. I ‘m sure that those who wanted to boo Obama may have faced a lil time in the brig, but if 75% of the audience booed him, what could they do....throw the entire group in the brig? I doubt it.

What are the occasions? (End of the Bush Gulf Offensive or visit to the war zone vs. Obama’s visit to a US Post?) Something fishy here. Its edited. OK, I know Bush is the Military favorite, but these are only 2 of many gatherings. The last clip was cut off, what else did the commentator have to say? If the troops sat on their hands for Obama, so be it, he’s no warrior for sure. Hopefully he’ll continue to protect us from further attacks as Bush did and earn the respect of the Military. Doubtful, but we can “Hope”.

I understand where you are coming from, so I’m not bothered by that comment. If many of our fellow Americans aren’t worthy of making the ultimate sacrifices for, then it’s got to be for the soldiers themselves, their families, & love of country....& THAT is good enough for me.

Did President Stinkweed actually have Hail to the Chief playing at the time he walked in, do you think? So that no one would notice the lack of applause?

You’re right. This appeared on FR last week as well and it was noted then that these are two different types of presentations (also see www.blackfive.net for some more military input as well as more video). As everyone knows, there is no love lost between the military and Obama, but my friends at Camp Lejeune informed me this was one of the One’s policy statements. As he entered the room, Marines were at attention. In Bush’s visit to troops in Iraq, Marines and others were at parade rest; his visit was less official and more personal.
Mind you, the Marines and their families applauded at the end, when they are given permission to do so, albeit half-heartedly.

Amen. All I can say is that there are many, many millions who DO appreciate what the military does, and try to support the military in every way possible.
