In recent statements on the local news channel New York 1, the actor Alec Baldwin pleaded for tax breaks that are provided to film and TV production companies in New York to be continued, in the name of business, jobs and overall revenue for the state and city.
In an interview on “The Road to City Hall,” actor Alec Baldwin is calling on state leaders to renew a tax credit for the TV and film industry.
The star of the NBC comedy “30 Rock” told NY1 political anchor Dominic Carter that without the tax break, TV programs that are produced locally will pack up and move to Hollywood.
“If these tax breaks, I’m telling you right now, if these tax breaks are not reinstated into the budget, film production in this town is going to collapse and television production is going to collapse and it's all going to go to California,” said Baldwin.

I have the feeling alot of the already are conservatives when they enter the voting booth.
Our labels got twisted when “liberal” came to mean “socialist”.
Liberals used to be for liberty and free markets. I am a classical liberal.
Guy is a dim bulb. If he is a conservative, I am the Queen of Sheba. He is a garden-variety uninformed lib who believes in “tax breaks for me (and my industry) but not for thee.” The reporter matches in in dim-bulbedness.
I was told during the early days of the Iraq War that the way to make a democrat or a pacifist see the light is to walk up to him, and punch him in the face absolutely as hard as you can. You then say, “I’m sorry, I don’t know what came over me. I absolutely denouce what I did, and completely and publicly promise it will never happen again.” Then you help him up, and repeat this process as needed until the desired effect is obtained.

I guess it’s different when liberal elites spread his industry’s wealth around. That said, Alec Baldwin is something like Dennis Miller - too smart to be a liberal. Miller switched - Baldwin might too.

My experience is that when most liberals deal with their own family, their own business, or their own freedom, the are conservative. When they deal with “society,” the “environment,” “business,” and the “rich” they spout liberal platitudes. They are liberal in the abstract. On abstract matters that they do not understand, they are liberal. When it comes time to get real, they are conservative. Our problem is that when they go into the voting booth, they vote for liberals who then enact policies that are suicidal.
His real views notwithstanding, he plays a politically conservative character quite fairly on 30 Rock. You might say it’s the writers who deserve the credit for that, but the show is actually pretty equal-opportunity when it comes to political jabs.
So what is the test to be a conservative? Let’s put THE test up and see if he passes.
Most of the time it is “I think I am a conservative, therefore, I am one.”
I’m trying to work up a tear here but the continuation of Hollywood movies and TV shows is dead last on my list of things to be concerned about. Votes have consequences, Alec!

I looked up laissez faire economics. It was described as a liberal economic system. That’s not what we are getting from Pelosi, Reid, and Obama.
