>> It’s a terrible tragedy. My condolences, Sir.

Thanks for the kind words... it’s tough, but I’ll get over it... somehow.

I heard about you losing yours also. That sucks, man. If you ever need a witness... you know, for the insurance, or something... don’t hesitate to ask.

;-)

“Rather than allow or encourage licensed people to bring pistols into public places, public officials prefer rewards from weaving comforting, popular elusions around Columbine, Omaha mall or Virginia Tech shootings. Colleges tout disturbing protocols for evacuating, witnessing, communicating, containing, coordinating, notifying, counseling, but never confronting. Repeated cases of armed citizens thwarting public violence are not recognized. College campuses remain islands of contentment for predators, during the ten-minute plus police response time.”

Finally someone said what I’ve always thought.
If one of the students was armed in the VT campus shooting it could have been completely avoided. I myself love reading the stories of good American men and women thwarting robberies or shootings because they were carrying a weapon.

Man that is terrible. Almost the same thing happened to me on a deep sea fishing trip. Every one of my guns gone.

My neighbor was carrying his collection in the woods one day when he slipped and dropped the entire collection down an abandoned mine shaft.

I guess accidents happen

Same here...I have a 9MM semi auto, 12 Gauge Shot gun and a “never been fired” Savage 111 30-06 Rifle with a scope..I am afraid to shoot that one...that can take down a Moose in one shot!!

Plus ammo is about $1 each for that. However, I have to get to the range and get some rounds in with Managed recoil ammo...but I can not find any!!! GRRRRRRR

"Black market guns will likely be cheaper than they were at the gun shop or sporting goods store. "

Looks like Mr. Ferris didn't do to well in econ 101.

Same thing happened to me including my reloading equipment...bottom of the lake.

Yes, very sad day for me.

Economics are a big consideration. Black market guns will likely be cheaper than they were at the gun shop or sporting goods store. And no more serial numbers on guns or any of that silly paperwork to fill out.

There will be a market driven “trickle down” effect on the end user’s price. To your benefit.

Doncha see? There are at least 65 million gun owners in America today. That’s probably as large a percent of the nation as ignored alcohol Prohibition. 65 million potential customers for black market guns is an awfully attractive business opportunity. And used-to-be gun owners will be seriously motivated buyers. Having someone disarm you is a little more edgy than being told you can’t have a beer. Well … that may be stretching it. But you get my point.

Since the Federal Government won’t be able to license or tax illicit guns (just like they don’t tax crack cocaine, or pot, or trailer park meth) guns will be cheaper right off the bat! Presently, gun makers have to pay a ten percent excise tax on every gun they manufacture. Not on every gun they sell … on every one they make. That cost gets passed on to you. Not so with a black market.

Should we be stockpiling guns?

The answer to this is NO! You will draw a great deal of negative attention to yourself. I recommend becoming familiar with firearms. This means taking a safety course and learning to shoot and clean many different types. There will be plenty of guns around when you need them.

You think that’s weird? Mine were sucked into a black hole that appeared in my bedroom when the large hardon collider was first switched on. Guns, ammo, cleaning supplies - all gone instantly!

Yep, me too. I live on a lake, I was out cleaning my guns on the deck and I had just put them all in a bag when a seagull came along and picked up the bag and dropped it in the lake. Strangest damn thing I’ve ever seen.

Dang, I hate it when that happens!

One reason we don't have HBO in the bedroom anymore.

Thank you for sharing, wagglebee! I know how embarrassing it is to admit.

You know, I have always thought of gun owners as perhaps a bit MORE responsible than the average rube. It’s humiliating to realize that we gun owners... ‘scuse me, I meant to say EX gun owners... as a group are so inattentive!

Clearly we’re too stupid to be of harm to ourselves, or anyone else. Or, to stretch the example, a danger to, say, a rogue government or anything like that.

Nope, we’re just a bunch of careless, harmless fuzzballs. And, now, defenseless, too. Bummer...

I sold all of mine. Every single one, all the ammo, etc. I lost all of the bills of sale in a flood however.

The day that Hussein was elected I saw the light, the Heavens opened up and my mind cleared. I went out that night and sold all my firearms to a nice gentleman at a east Fort Worth car wash.

Would that be this Large Hardon Collider, by chance?
