Ever Wonder what ever happened to the War in Iraq? Did our hero's come home? You hardly ever hear about it on the evening news any more. Only in the rare cases when there is a homicide attack. It used to be the top story every day. Where did it go? There has to be some sort of "gag order" on the press. I have never heard the United States issue such a "gag order" but I am now convinced there has to be one in place right now. Why else would the press fail to cover the Good News coming out of Iraq?
Take for example, Dave Schmidt. He is one of our American Heroes. Dave just got back from Iraq and was surprised at the lack of reporting the REAL story about the Iraq war. So he has provided it himself:

It’s because Obama is in charge now, and the bad news that inundated the news in years past would damage the democrats and Obama.
Wow! What a surprise!
your thoughts?
We won, but don’t tell anyone. It’s a secret.
There just isn't that much bad news. Mexico is worse than Iraq now. You'll note that Iraq coverage diminished well before Obama was elected. That's because the security situation began to improve drastically in late 2007. There were a few weeks of hell in the spring of '08 when Mookie's thugs went nuts, but the US and Iraqi forces quelled that. Other than that, there have been only a few incidents, most of them in Diyala and Mosul provinces, which are the last ones remaining to be settled.
Baghdad is becoming a normal, bustling city now and people feel confident enough to where the cafes, shops, parks and markets are crowded and thriving.
National elections were held on January 31 and there was no violence.
Iraq has been and continues to be on the mend and that's why the media doesn't talk about it. It's no longer bleeding, so it's no longer leading in the news.
Iraq is going well, but it has never prevented the MSM from reporting some aspect of it as a disaster.
The reason I gave for Iraq also works in regards to Mexico, especially so. The Democrats must have the Hispanic vote and they know it.
Thanks and smoochs to you
Continuing to talk about Iraq would mean that we won, and that the surge worked, and if the surge worked in Iraq it will work in Afghanistan, too. The Democrats want to pull back military spending and divert it to the bailout, so talk of surging the military in Afghanistan would argue against cutting back the military.
So, success in Iraq can't be discussed, either, for it will beg the question about Afghanistan.

They don’t want to remind the anti-war liberals that Obama hasn’t made good on his promise to get the troops out of Iraq right away.
Yep, for the media, “If it bleeds, it leads!”
