good job Megyn. Interesting how loney Press thinks NPR should be excluded, newspapers excluded, TV excluded - only AM commerial stations.

I am just so sick of RATs...

What is fair? Well, I’ve heard about every liberal I’ve ever come across refer to PBS/NPR as completely unbiased. So that’s where the “middle of the road” mark is in their eyes, i.e. solidly far left opinions with the window dressing of objectivity. I believe a great response to the libs on this is “Great! We’re all for the fairness doctrine, just as long as we get to decide what is fair.”

Just loved the way Press kept referring to liberal talk radio as ‘progressive’ talk radio—sounds like the marketing people have gotten to him. No matter what he calls liberal talk radio, it is still tripe.

Perhaps it may be time for the 10 million “white man's march” on Washington. Lots to march against — Hussein Obama hijacking the census process; trillions of dollars in wasteful spending; lobbyists in cabinet positions; billions of dollars to ACORN; gun rights in jeapordy; and most of all, the attack by the Hussein Obama administration and the RATS on the first amendment. I am reading to go!

The Fairness Doctrine should be about ACCESS to the public airwaves, not popularity of the shows on the public airwaves. Access does not guarantee acceptance.

Has there been a problem with denied access to people like Press, or Franken, or Rhodes, or Schultz, on AM frequencies?

On the other hand, have there been problems with denied access to people like Coulter on VHF frequencies?

Press is ticked off because Obama180 couldn’t make it in the most democrat of all areas, Washington, DC and he got kicked off the air when the owner folded talk on that station... if something named AFTER Obama in Washington DC can’t make it — when the conservative programs on another station, owned by the same person, is thriving, then there is something wrong with the message... what I don’t understand is why liberal talk cannot survive and yet people VOTE for liberals.

My questions to Press are:

1. If there is demand for liberal talk radio in a market, why don't investors create a radio station for it and go to the FCC for a license?

2. Why ruin a radio station that airs conservative talk radio by forcing it to air liberal talk radio that its listeners don't want to listen to?

3. If you are going to do that, why exempt PBS and the alphabet radio networks from so-called "fairness" as well and force them to carry Rush, Hannity, Glen Beck and Laura Ingraham?

Quite frankly it is because the people who voted for Zerobama don’t listen to the radio at all, they either have an iPod plugged into their ears or they are watching American Idol, MTV, soap operas or some other inane TV program.

what I don’t understand is why liberal talk cannot survive and yet people VOTE for liberals.

Have you ever dared to allow liberal "talk" radio to infiltrate your ears? If so, then you know there's no "there, there".

They do nothing but endlessly repeat the same talking points, interspersed with ad hominem attacks against anything Republican or conservative, without the slightest bit of analysis, fact, or reasoning involved.

It's also an echo chamber, as conservative callers are verboten, as far as I've been able to reckon. Pretty boring, if you ask me, if there's no interchange of opposing viewpoints.

Even a moonbat can only listen to a broken record play for so long before they tune out.

We need a “sound bite” that gets these ideas across:

#1 Why not apply “fairness doctrine” to TV ?
#2 Why not apply “fairness doctrine” to newspapers ?

Like most liberal power-grabs, it’s all marketing. Let’s toss around some SLOGAN ideas for “if it’s good for radio, why not TV + newspapers?”

Defeating this liberal power-grab is a no-brainer, but are we too lazy to shoot it down?

We need to convey, in common terms to the average citizen, why this “fairness doctrine” is ridiculously lopsided.

Because when 70% of the public thinks an idea is silly/hypocritical/fascist, it’s harder to make the idea into law.

“....what I don’t understand is why liberal talk cannot survive and yet people VOTE for liberals.”

Wow, I think you’re on to something. When liberal ideas are examined or discussed, they fall apart. They can’t even hold the attention of liberals themselves. That’s why liberals vote on Emotion.

And Emotion cannot be logically “reasoned with.” The only way to defeat Emotion is with STRONGER EMOTION.

Example: Everybody hates the Porkulus bill (strong emotion). So how does Hussein get it passed? FEAR OF CATASTROPHE (stronger emotion).

I see 2 angles here:

#1 Somehow combine the idea of “democrat political candidates” with the idea of “examining the issues.” (Talk radio is an obvious example, but how else can we make this combination entertaining? On the web?)

Not too easy? Democrats are GREAT at identifying/polarizing whatever Republican they want, then destroying him in 48 hours. Democrats are intellectual midgets, so why are they so capable of pulling off this trick? Why can’t we identify and polarize democrats? Why do they get to swim anonymously around while damaging this country? Yes, coordinated attacks via the MSM help, but there’s enough conservative outlets now that we should have some synergy to take down the worst socialist scum.

#2 During campaign season, we could combat the emotions of “hope and change” (promised but never delivered by democrats), with the stronger emotions of SHOWING EXAMPLES OF THE CULTURAL ROT caused by 50 years of Democrat policies. Show them the inner city, then show them the Welfare bills that subsidize single mothers to have more kids (we’re headed back to that scenario now). If that doesn’t SCARE people, nothing will.

At least half the country is voting on emotion. If the RNC isn’t willing to scare people with the warning of MORE inner city ROT, more failed schools, higher taxes... then we’re not going to win.

I agree with your assessments, but would add us conservative republicans have to learn to discuss the issues with facts at our fingertips and get our own emotions out of the discussion... it is much more difficult to argue with fact than it is with emotion.

We need to present WHY liberal socialism is not good -- heaven knows we have plenty of historical evidence in England, France, etc., on why it doesn't work and what is headed down the pike here as a result... we need to explain why capitalism works while not supporting the greedy crooks who created this situation on WallStreet and BTW explain that the laws that led to the bank meltdowns were put in by Carter and Clinton and it was Obama who sued Citibank on behalf of ACORN to force Citi to make subprime loans to poor people who didn't have qualifications for those loans... then we could explain how unions and CAFE standards along with high fuel prices (thanks to environmentalists) is why our auto industry is in the tank, not capitalism, but liberalism...

We have the facts, we have to find a way to get it out by getting around the crooked media.

This “fairness” concept COULD BE the best thing that ever happened to conservatives - we just don’t realize it yet.

Why? Because the MSM, the government, the universities, the local laws, and the activist groups are mostly LIBERAL.

So let’s demand “fairness” in everything - not just radio/TV/newspapers, but the activities of Obama, his cabinet, on college campi, by college professors assigning books to read, in activist groups like PETA and MEDIA MATTERS, in groups funded by George Soros...

Because... Who can disagree with fairness?

Folks, brainstorm along with me please (just toss ideas out as they enter your mind):

#1 Obama, in the name of fairness, please pass 1 conservative bill for every liberal bill you sign.

#2 Harvard, in the name of fairness, please host 1 conservative speaker for every liberal group you host.

#3 Nancy Pelosi, please hold 1 meeting with republicans for every closed-door meeting you hold with democrats.

#4 College professors, please assign 1 conservative book for every liberal book you assign.

We should cheerlead this in every arena other than talk radio, and see what happens.

Until we DEMAND FAIRNESS, we won’t get it.

Yep. If I had to diagnose conservatives’ biggest problem, I’d say we’re terrible at boiling down ideas so regular Joes can immediately grasp them.

I’m talking about boiling things down to a “t-shirt slogan” that any yahoo can understand. How many times have you seen some slogan and suddenly realized “Wow, they’re actually saying what I’ve thought all along.” I say that every time I visit a T-shirt website.

It’s actually easy - we just need to generate a list of slogans/examples, and pick the best ones. It’s best if the examples are concrete and regular things that anyone can understand.

A perfect item is ACORN & Barney Frank fighting to make loans available to anybody with a pulse. Causing inflation in housing prices. Causing the bubble which just burst.

Why isn’t THAT a T-shirt yet?

Folks, let’s brainstorm some T-shirt slogans:

“BARNEY FRANK gave me a house, but......”
“BARNEY FRANK loaned me money, but......”

The Fairness Doctrine only covers radio. All our guys can go on TV - and we’ll buy radios that pick up TV stations. It’s not hard to get around dems - Besides dems don’t really want to do this - they’re just trying to poke us to get us to act like them. If they pulled off the unfairness doctrain it would unite the right and all those folks who just listen for entertainment. They’re smart enough NOT to give us that gift.
