If the United States took the time to exploit our resources in the Gulf of Mexico we would generate 63 BILLION Gallons of Oil, 186 TRILLION Cubic Feet of natural Gas, generate $1.4 TRILLION dollars of government income, reduce our reliance on foreign energy by 42% and add countless jobs and other tax revenue to the economy. Gee Whiz, talk about a stimulus plan that will generate long term jobs, and bolster the economy. And that's just the Gulf. If all of our resources were used we could add $1.7 TRILLION to the economy and reduce imports by 80%. Source.
But right now the Democratic Party and the environ-nuts are doing their best from STOPPING the US from exploited own resources. So the result is the United States will not be drawing more fuel from the Gulf of Mexico, but guess who will be...CUBA!....

Change? Hope? Gone with the wind -— the same old liberal crap with sourcing our own petroleum. Obama has a serious priority problem — pandering to his green contributors is far more important than the economic and energy independence of America — to say nothing about its security.
How long before we become dependent on Cuba for fuel? If Congress won’t authorize our own drilling we should send Congress to Gitmo.
