Obama and Socialism: "Say hello to my little friend"
American Sentinel ^ | January 13, 2009 | Michael Eden

Posted on 01/13/2009 3:25:07 PM PST by Michael Eden

One of the best-remembered "famous movie lines": Al Pacino as Scarface, shouting defiance as he introduces a vicious grenade-launcher-equipped assault rifle to the police. Going out in a blaze of glory - or at least a blaze of something.

Well, President-elect Barack Obama had his own "little friend" to introduce us to: Carol Browner and the hard-core socialist policies that will certainly come out of her, every bit as much as firepower came out of Scarface's weapon.

Fox News Special Report revealed this:

Incoming Global Warming Czar Carol Browner was — until last week — listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group that advocates what's called "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change. The Washington Times reports Browner's name and biography were listed on the Web page for Socialist International .

Mr. Obama's transition team says Browner's membership in the organization is not a problem and that it brings experience in policymaking to her new role. But House Minority Leader John Boehner’s spokeswoman Antonia Ferrier asks, “Does she agree with the group's positions on global governance- that the United States should abdicate its international leadership to international organizations? Does she support its position that the international community should be the ultimate arbiter of climate change policy?"

Mr. Obama has said action on climate change will be a priority in his administration.

Well, to answer the two questions raised in the short article: of course it's a problem that someone who will hold such power is a committed socialist who wants to take autonomy, power, and wealth away from the United States and give it to "the world"; and of course she agrees with the positions the group that she leads advocates.

"Say hello to my little friend": a hard-core leftist socialist agenda in the name of saving the planet and "global justice" that will do every bit as much damage to the U.S. economy as Scarface's weapon could do to human flesh.

The cost of caps and trades on businesses; the cost of developing expensive new technologies that will ultimately produce much less actual energy at a much higher cost; the massive government involvement with all the pork, earmarks, corruption, waste, and out-of-control budgets that government involvement inevitably entails; and the fact that even if we actually get the new technology, key competitors like China and India - using cheap oil and coal - will have yet another major competitive advantage over us.

Oil and coal are so much cheaper than any "alternative" energy that it is simply unreal. The idiotic push for "alternative energy" is the common-sense equivalent to building some obscenely complicated and expensive Rube Goldberg machine to brush our teeth rather than just applying tooth paste to a tooth brush.

The only thing worse than an incredibly stupid taxpayer-funded government idea is an incredibly stupid taxpayer-funded government idea that is forced upon everyone by official mandate.

Government-mandated taxpayer-funded oral hygiene device
The boondoggles are already mounting: as one example, Seattle wants federal money to finance measures such as installing solar panels on three public bathrooms at a cost of over a million dollars - in a city that averages 58 clear days a year.

Studies show that global warming legislation will cost the economy trillions of dollars. And what is so ironic as to be laughable is that Europe is backing away from their economy-killing global warming measures even as we prepare to embrace the knife.

We're going to suffer terribly as Obama unveils his "little friend."

He blasted a rival gang, not the police.

I don’t even like Scarface, and I saw it once.

Just Obama setting up his Politburo. The American Socialist Party is taking even more shape.

Hey lib voters — you voted for SOCIALISM, now live with it. Buyer’s remorse has not set in yet, but you won’t like it when it does.

Congratulations on an extraordinary history making election!

We can think back with pride to decades of hard work toward our strategic goal of a big enough, broad enough and united enough labor and all-people’s movement that could overcome the ultra-right blockage to all progress. That all people’s movement has come to life, it is dynamic and it has the potential to keep growing.

The election of Barack Obama and a strengthened Congress creates new conditions in our country. There is now the possibility to shift gears and move forward. This new day requires us to further develop our tactics in order to continue to deepen and broaden labor and people’s unity.

There are thousands of experiences that we all have had in these momentous days, some large, some small, all of which express the enormity of change in thinking and readiness for involvement that is underway and that steels us for the battles ahead.

The tears of joy we all shared as crowds gathered to watch the election results here and throughout the world dramatize the new moment we are in.

My only hope is that this kind of crap is going to be like pushing on a rope.

The lib voters will love it. They are divided into two groups, the wealthy elite whose assets are secured from government sequestration and the less affluent who will be supported by the elite out of the hides of the rest of us, albeit at a declining level, but all they will understand is that Daddy is supporting them. Their political dissatisfactions will be channeled into calling for the government take away more from the not yet Gates-class entrepreneurs and the salaried class.

Well, another hope is that the mob ends up burning down the wealthy elite’s homes. Figuratively, of course. ;P

It’s been fascinating so far to watch the libs try to justify every move obama makes. They will defend this too, until members of the public learn about the fallout from “global governance.” It would almost be fun to watch how it plays out except that these yahoos are taking the rest of us down with them.

I hope she pushes for as much green garbage as possible. It will train wreck the economy, but maybe that will be enough pain to wake up the idiots who make up 53% of our electorate (i.e., donk voters).

The economy is already pretty much wrecked and THIS is why we’re looking at a depression and not a recession. The economy is going to lay there like a dead cat because everything they’ve proposed is just going to kill it some more. The bailouts are going to kill it. The stimulus is going to kill it (think flooded engine), the stupid enviro-leninist policies are going to kill it, the energy stifling policies are going to kill it, the tax policies are going to kill it.

It’s dead and it’s going to stay dead as long as this bunch is in there.

“The Mob” won’t ever go after Soros or even Buffett. They will burn down the homes and businesses of the small business folks. They especially won’t go after the fatcat Clintons and Kennedys because American liberals are, at heart, monarchists(those who aren’t actually communists) and crave to be ruled by a Wise king who will remove from them the necessity to think about nasty things like politics or the future. They do not direct their envy at the Magnificent Rich because they crave a titled elite class to take care of all their problems. Are you old enough to remember “Camelot?” You can see that the Kennedys are ardently believed to be a Dynasty. All a Kennedy has to do to be elected in the Northeast is run for office or let it be known that he is available for appointment because Kennedys are the Rightful Kings regardless of ability or mental capacity. A clearly retarded Kennedy would be elected governor of Massachssetts or Connecticut with no serious opposition.

Action on climate change?

Does it involve detonating nuclear weapons at test site(TTAPS study)?

Aw man, sorry to hear that. Al Pacino's best movie, IMO. I would love to see a prequel or a sequel.

Of course, the funniest thing of all is that the guy that proposed the most draconian vetting procedures in history is the same guy who couldn’t pass a basic security clearance given his history of radical associations.
