Recently I was listening to a political talk show on the radio and the speaker was talking about the evils of gerrymandering congressional districts. I had to laugh a bit because he was attempting to assert that only the GOP does this, and that the DNC was completely innocent of such shenanigans. Lets forget who is at fault for a moment, and focus on the solutions. It should not surprise you that some very elegant solutions exist, technical solutions. Upon investigating this issue one discovers that technology is not the problem, but politicians are.
The root problem is that neither side wants to play fair. This is a war, so all is fair, right? Wrong. This is not a war. In a war it's perfectly acceptable to kill your opponents. In American politics it is illegal, and more importantly, a social taboo, to kill your opponents. Ours is a great debate. And with this in mind the only thing stopping us from using a technological solution is ourselves.

The mistake many make is that they believe politicians want solutions to problems we face. Most don’t, esp. libs. Why? Because problems invite “solutions” that result in more power for the politicians. The last thing they want to do is find actual solutions because that would curtail the opportunity to sieze more power.
And if there aren’t enough real problems, they will manufacture them, either real ones or imagined ones. See the housing/credit crisis (real) and man-made global warming (imagined) for prime examples.

Solution: make it legal to kill your opponents in politics.
The problem, I’ve been saying for years, is politics: that one person, or group of people, should receive more “justice” (social, judicial, etc) than another is oppressive and contrariness to our founder’s intents. It is because we the people have different rules to follow than “we the government”, or “we the federal agency of your choice”.
“The mistake many make is that they believe politicians want solutions to problems we face.”
I don’t know too many on this forum who make that mistake pf believing that politicians want solution. The question I have for you is, what are you going to do about it? Are you content to preach to the choir here, or are you doing more?
You are, of course, correct about most Freepers. I was speaking about the voting populace at large.
And I am doing more, I just don’t speak about it here...
Excellent news then! I see Freepers as on the front line and I’m glad to hear that you’re in the fight!
