When 42,769 Freepers Join Together, Who Can Stand In Our Way?

There was a poll question I alerted everyone one here to. As the case usually is, Freepers answered the sound of the charge and made a difference. There is no site on the Web that can brag about this kind of response from it's members. We come together in the hope that we can change that which we do not agree with. As was the case in this Poll on Intelligent Design vs Evolution, when we get together in mass we always make a difference.

Imagine, In a just 2 1/2 hours I was able to drum up enough support to change a poll I thought needed attention. Like the days of yore when a man needed help from his countrymen. He would go to the allotted place of meeting, usually a hill, and he would sound the blast of a horn. People would come from miles around to see what was happening. They would discuss the matter and make a plan to correct the problem.

Then they would work together as a unit to complete the task. When they accomplished their goal they would shake each others hands while slapping each other on the back. They would then all return to their families and feel as though they truly had a say in the way their community was progressing.

Well, I climbed the Free Republic hill and sounded the horn. I alerted the people of our community that their was a matter that needed our attention. Not everyone agreed nor did everyone participate, but in mass we got together and discussed the issue. We heard all sides and made a plan to act upon the matter we were faced with. Now the results are in and I for one can honestly say that we made a difference.

42,769 Freepers came to the hill where we made a plan and carried it out. We are successful and the battle has changed to our favor. Now I will go home to my family, knowing that we again made a difference. I know that in the future you will always be by my side, and I by yours. This was just one battle, not much more then a skirmish, and we have many many more ahead. In three weeks we actually have the mother of all battles that we must wage and I pray that the response by us and all our friends and relatives is as dramatic as this little skirmish was.

As of this post the results of the poll is now

Yes ------------------- 74.81% -------- up from 35.08%
No -------------------- 25.00% -------- down from 64.43%
Unsure---------------- 00.20% -------- down from 00.48%
Total responses ----- 68993 --------- up from 26224

Again, I thank you my friends and fellow Freepers.
