Barack Obama, congressional Democrats and Progressive-Left operatives – with the help of the mainstream media – have done a great job of spinning culpability for the mortgage crisis onto the Bush Administration, congressional Republicans and, in particular, John McCain. This is a notable moment in the history of political spin because as the facts present, Democrats and Progressive-Leftists – not Republicans –are the ones directly responsible for the current financial crisis in which our country is embroiled.

To me, the bigger question is why the GOP sits there and does nothing to counteract it.

It's worse than that. The media and our so-called educational system have actually succeeded in getting Americans to blame capitalism in general, and mortgage bankers in particular. The words "wall street", "CEO", and "rich" have become pejoratives, if not epithets.

Blaming mortgage bankers for the credit mess is like blaming the river for the drowning of someone pushed off the bridge.
