New Spanish-language McCain ad: Joe Biden thinks Mexico is “dysfunctional”!
Hot Air ^ | 1 October 08 | ALLAHPUNDIT

Yeah, crazy Joe and his crazy ideas. Here’s the source for his “dysfunctional” comment. Try to contain your outrage.

Joe Biden shared his views on illegal immigration with an Iowa crowd, saying that the solution starts with big changes in the Mexican economy.

“They’re being irresponsible. This is the second-wealthiest nation in the hemisphere - we’re not talking about Sierra Leone,” the Democratic presidential candidate said. “This is a dysfunctional society.”

The full translated script follows below. Exit question one: Who exactly is supposed to take exception to what Biden said? If Mexican immigrants turned U.S. citizens didn’t (fundamentally) agree with him, they wouldn’t be here. Exit question two: How “functional” is a government that distributes instructions to its citizens on how to sneak out of the country?

ANNCR: So what’s worse? That Barak Obama and his allies in Congress killed immigration reform?

Or that their immigration attacks were called “unfair” … “absolutely and directly wrong” … and even “fraudulent” by the press.

Or that Obama and his liberal allies think the U.S. has an immigration problem because Mexico is a quote, “dysfunctional society”.

They’ve said no to us long enough. This election, let’s tell them no.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

I agree with Biden on this one, though McCain should take advantage.

We’re talking “broken clock” here in this case with Biden.

If they had a functioning society their people would not be jumping the border to the US.

McCain is a pro amnesty shill.

I think Biden was being charitable, Mexico is utterly corrupt.

Mexico is dysfunctional, but that is precisely because it is a quasi-socialist state. The current government is trying to change that, but the unions (particularly the teachers and government employees) are fighting them every step of the way, and the unions are, of course, simply the pawns of the hard left that is trying to take over Mexico now.

That’s why Mexicans are fleeing. But it won’t do them much good, because if Obama gets elected, we’ll have exactly the same situation here.

Someone call one of McCain's handlers, and have them tell McCain that Mexico is not only dysfunctional, but corrupt to the bone from the top down.

Is McCain living in another realm? Even a restrained idiot understands this.

I don’t think the point is that McCain disagrees; I think the point is that this is what Joe Biden’s opinion is, and that Hispanics might find this different from what they would expect is his and his running mate’s platform.

Yes, and we're talking McCain accepting dysfunctional Mexico as status quo for the right to pander for a voting block.

yeah, keep chasing that latino vote, John. Gonna be great to see the monumental ‘return on investment’ the Bush Administration and McCain receive for selling out to the Mexicans so blatantly over the past decade. Who are the people advising these guys?

Biden’s a pompous ass with a penchant for sticking both fat feet into his mouth, but he’s essentially right on this one.

As skeevy as saying that makes me feel....yeesh.

Good point. If Obama gets elected, WE may start crossing the border - going south! Obama would certainly take Mexico as an example of how to run a country...

What is the strategy here?

Is McCain hoping American citizens will be pissed off because Biden thinks Mexico is dysfunctional?

Are there any citizens that don't know this already?

First crazy Dennis Kuchich says something I agree with and now Uncle Joe does. Then the Republican president and candidate push one of the most socialist bits of legislation ever. What is happening here? Am I taking crazy pills?

He’s not addressing the entire American electorate, just the hispanics, and particularly the ones who have the most to gain from amnesty.

Are these "Hispanics" you're referring to, Americans? If so, is there a single American out there that don't know Mexico is dysfunctional?

Oh, and the ones that stand the most to make off of amnesty are the corrupt white corporation/business owners and the corrupt politicians they fund the campaigns for.

I don't know. Don't really care, honestly. I'm not voting for McCain. I'm voting for Palin. Otherwise I'd be going third-party. Also, I vote issues, not parties, and I call a spade a spade. AKA shovel, for the sensitive types. In this, if nothing else, Biden is right. ;)

You mean like mortgage banks that sell ALT-A Liar loans and the politicians that encourage the practice? The same loans that have the highest default rate in the nation and are a large part of why the investment banks have gone under and now "require our taxpayer money to bail out the rest? Those guys?

“What is happening here? Am I taking crazy pills?”

It is the end of the world as we know it. (That happens everyday, really, but most people don’t pay that much attention.)

Or maybe we just live in a crazy world. I think there is a biblical verse that applies...

Makes me sick. My wife and her family came here and went through years of legal processing to become citizens. I honestly believe the left has, like every other major national institution, intentionally destroyed it in order to promote their own version of "reform" which is no control at all. It's all in line with the objective of destroying our nation.

The system needs reform, but that reform involves enforcing our laws so harshly that no one wants to break them. Next it involves making it easier for qualified applicant to become citizens without a 7-10 year legal deathmarch. Everyone else should go home.
