How important is Pennsylvania to the Republicans?
GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin will arrive today in Philadelphia and make a very limited public appearance, before an extended stay in the Delaware Valley.
Palin will be at the Irish Pub on Walnut Street on Friday night for a public debate watching party, if the debate between John McCain and Barack Obama continues as planned.
On Thursday, Palin will arrive at Philadelphia International Airport at 12:45 p.m.
She had planned to appear at a rally at the airport, but Palin suspended her campaign on Wednesday night along with John McCain, in response to the current economic crisis.
So the vice presidential candidate will head to an unspecified location in our area.
Palin had planned to stay in Philadelphia for the weekend to prepare for her October 2 debate with Joe Biden.
But all her plans might be on hold, if the debates are rescheduled.
I thought the Irish vote was in the bag after McCain promised to give the illegal Irish amnesty.

That would definitely hurt the ticket in Pittsburgh.
Will Sarah Palin end up “allegidly drinking heavily” at this pub, if the debate doesn’t happen?
She is putting on a charm offensive everywhere she goes.
I think NY is in play now.
Her visit to PA will put it in the “Solid Red” column.
Go Barracuda!
too bad he didn’t let her do the rally as planned... i bet a lot of people were looking forward to seeing/hearing her...
The cops and firemen were appreciative of her suport at 9/11. Those scenes are worth a million bucks
What debate?
More campaign money is being spent in Pennsylvania than any other state. The candidates are practically living here. I would suggest that all he needs to do to seal the deal in western Pennsylvania is to run ads showing Obama with his Hollywood and other radical friends and to repeat as the voiceover Obama’s comment about bitter small town Pennsylvanians clinging to guns and religion. Add Palin in the mix traveling to small towns near the Pittsburgh, Erie, Johnstown, and State College media markets and giving interviews about her experience hunting moose and caribou with her father and her husband’s snow machine skills, and her pro-life stands. That would wipe out Obama. Try it McCain. You can win here.
McCain should send Palin to the debate unannounced and have Sarah start the debate. McCain should then walk in at midpoint and finish it.
