Former vice-president Al Gore urged investors frightened by recent drops in share prices on the stock market to sell everything before its too late and to redeploy the proceeds into the purchase of carbon offsets from Generation Investment Management, a London-based company, for which he serves as chairman.
The global economy has reached a tipping point, Gore asserted. Stocks and bonds will become worthless, but carbon offsets will soar to higher values once Im named climate czar in the forthcoming Obama Administration. I strongly advise everyone to buy now so they dont have to pay more later.
Gore pointed to Obamas promised green economy as the rationale for owning the offsets. Starting next year, every activity resulting in carbon emissions will face an obligation to either cease or to buy offsets, Gore explained. Itll be buy or die. So, I suggest that prudent investors protect themselves by stocking up on this new investment option while they can still do so at reasonable prices.

One of these days....
But then again, truth is stranger than satire...
And with the holiday season rapidly approaching....they make lovely stocking stuffers!!
Gore’s scheme was wiped out with Lehman Brothers...they were hosting it.
Damn. You almost had me that time. And I know better!
Say, if memory serves, don't you own of few of these offsets, Al?
Wouldn't it be easier all around if I just sent you a check?
You flipping moron.
When did carbon credits ever employ someone in meaningful, productive work that caused another person to be employed, and another person, and another person?
Carbon credits are a capital black hole which generates no value for the investment and therefore has a negative effect on any economy in which carbon credits are made mandatory.
Why not buy rights to air ?
I wish someone would redeploy Algore to the Sudan or somewhere. I am as sick of him as I am of the Kerry, Kennedy, Dirty Harry Reid and the black guy.
Should we invest in wood and dung? How about horse-carts and big rocks we can use to smash smaller rocks? Al Gore: taking us into the FUTURE!
“When did carbon credits ever employ someone in meaningful, productive work that caused another person to be employed, and another person, and another person?”
They make Al Gore rich(er).
