Biden questions McCain-Palin's patriotism

In defending their plan to raise taxes even higher, Joe Biden says that paying higher taxes is the "patriotic" thing to do.

First off, as Jon Sanders points out on Townhall, patriotism is a voluntary act. Sure, paying income tax is voluntary, it's just that the government provides a little bit of an incentive to comply. That is, staying out of prison.

It looks as though Obammie has designated “Rimshot” Obiden as his “Patriotism” guru. Good pick. “Stand up Chuck!” (rimshot)

Whenn i first started voting no politician would dare to say that raising taxes was a good thing. Over the last 10 years picking our pockets has become “patriotic”. Sad.

BTW: Rimshot needs to have a talk with his unpatriotic buddy, Charlie Rangel. Charlie seems to be having a problem with paying his “fair share.”

Photobucket Is this an oxymoron? A liberal questioning a war hero's patriotism?

At least now we know why Biden’s losing his hair—his brain evaporated, and the roots have fallen into the empty space inside his skull.

Keep in mind that dumbass has been in power since the early 70’s and keeps spouting it. McGovern did, Carter did, Mondale did and Clinton kept quiet. It’s quite astonishing really.

Newt Gingrich made a great point on Hannity & Colmes. He asked Allen why Joe Biden would force the poor and middle class to be less “patriotic” than the rich.

I saw that and thought that was a damn good response. I plan to use that “liberally” at work tomorrow.

There's nothing wrong with the liberal logic of "Paying higher taxes is patriotic. Serving your country isn't."

That is 100% true. Think about it.

Paying taxes is mandatory. It shows that you'll do as your told.

Serving your country is voluntary. It shows you consider your own judgment superior to the judgment of the elites.

Think about it. This is entirely consistent with the liberal concept of "patriotism". That it's not consistent with our version of patriotism highlights the central issue. We're being patriotic for the ideals of two different Americas that currently occupy the same real estate.

And I don't mean the rich and poor.

Being Patriotic to the Government instead of our Nation. Excellent Point.

It's not very neighborly of Charlie Rangel not to want to pay more taxes.

It sounds a lot like self-described socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders rant about rich people.

Surtax on the Wealthy “In my view, we need an emergency surtax on those at the very top in order to pay for any losses the Federal Government suffers as a result of efforts to shore up the economy. It should not be hard-working people who are trying to figure out how they are going to keep their families economically above water, people who are working longer hours for lower wages, people who have lost their health care, people who cannot afford to pay their fuel bills this winter. Those are not the people who should be asked to pay for this bailout. If there is a bailout that has to be paid for, it should be the people, the segment of society that has benefited from Bush's economic and tax policies over the last eight years. It is this very small segment of our population that has made out like bandits--frankly, some of them are bandits--during the Bush administration. We have to recognize that when we talk about who is going to pay for the bailouts.”

Not on his website but in his e-mail...

“The wealthiest 400 families in America saw an increase in their wealth of $670 billion since President Bush has been in office. They have seen extraordinary benefits under Bush’s reckless economic policies. The middle class, whose standard of living has declined, should not be paying for these bailouts. Rather, we need an emergency surtax on those at the very top in order to pay for any losses the federal government suffers as a result of necessary efforts to shore up the economy,” Sanders said.

The goal is communism.

I would ask Joe Biden if the Pilgrims and Colonists were patriotic to England. Watch him squirm.

I love this new angle that Joe Biden is taking, making a case for higher taxes. I hope he keeps it up, I’m sure most undecided voters would like to pay more taxes. Make it PERFECTLY clear Joe, higher taxes. I’m starting to wonder if Biden is a Clinton operative.
