Good thing he has that Community Organizer thing on his resume, otherwise people might start wondering if he ever had a real job before coming to the U.S. Senate. Obama’s Illinois Senate job was a pretty good part-time gig. One would have plenty of extra time to nurture nascent Hope and Change. A Hillary supporter did some digging at the height of the primary battle and found out how often the Illinois Senate convened during Obama’s tenure.
Not only that, a local Chicago reporter also has reported that, though Obama spent 7 years in the state senate, he built his entire legislative record in one year, and none of it was his.

Obama hasn’t spend much time at his US Senate job, but then, neither has McCain.
Elected officials should be forced to resign from their current position BEFORE they can run for another elective position.

I’m from Illinois and I never heard of him before he ran for U.S. Senate - and he won that by default. He was way behind and an 11th hour scandal caused the Repub. opponent to drop out. I wish SOMEONE would dig up his victory celebration that night and show the first introduction of the big mouth, conceited, stage-hog Michelle.
I'm willing to buy into that except for one thing: How'd he get such a good primary campaign and caucus machine together? Was he lucky in who supported him, or was there some Machiavellian talent on his part?
