Did anyone watch the special tonight on Fox with Greta van Susteren about Sarah Palin?
Well, she's a slam-dunk for me now.
TOPICS: Chit/Chat; Humor; Pets/Animals; Politics
KEYWORDS: germanshepherd; gsdping; mccainpalin; palin; sarahpalin; sarahsdogs
Seeing all the old family photographs, Palin/Heath grew up with several German Shepherds.
She's eminently qualified. ;-)

I’m watching it now. It’s great. She’s been a slam dunk for me since her announcement, but this just cements the deal.
To: the OlLine Rebel
Would like to see a current pic of her now (but without her glasses). ANYONE good a photo-edit to show a modified pic without the glasses?
To: the OlLine Rebel
That was a pretty good piece that only presented the facts about the Governor and her family. I really didn’t see any bias in it one way or another. Congratulations to Greta for doing what FOX NEWS claims they do.

She is more than qualified. Palin will be the first woman president of the US.
She is great.

Great documentary by Greta. Although I didn't particularly care for the way she left the impression that Sarah Palin tried to get her ex-brother-in-law fired simply because he was going through a "bitter custody battle" with her sister.
My spidey senses tell me there has to be more to the story and it disappointed me that Greta didn't at least make reference to the real reason.
She didn't hold any punches when she talked about how Palin blew the whistle on that Energy Commission Chairman which resulted in his resignation and 12,000 dollar fine.

Shes been a slam dunk for me since her announcement, but this just cements the deal I was going to vote for McCain, albeit half-heartily, but after he picked her I am more excited about this campaign since I voted for Reagan.
My first choice for VP was Romney but I gotta admit I was wrong, this pick is perfect! Show the good judgement McCain has.

She rocks. Also, it shows that there’s lots and lots of info, including video, out there that the MSM could have been using while they waited for an interview - which they would have gotten a lot sooner if they hadn’t enthusiastically ran down the slime alley.

The trooper has admitted he tasered his 10 year old son (Palin's nephew). He beat up his wife and threatened the lives of the Governor's father and husband.
The trooper's supervisor gave him a five day suspension. Bottom line, the trooper's supe SHOULD have been fired for gross incompetance. The trooper should not be wearing the uniform of a state trooper. He should be in jail.

I am the proud friend of two German shepherds. I got them (brother and sister) in January and they are a happy addition to my home. They are now 9 months old and smart as can be.
Please add me to your “ping” list if you will.

I was exactly the same way. I was doing that age-old “lesser evil” reasoning...until he picked her. Gotta love ‘Cudda. I'm ready to see her sink her teeth into DC. Perhaps the pair can make politics fun again. Esp if he vetoes like he says he will. That's what I wanna see!

I can see Palin resigning after him signing some gross legislation..

And whenever you bring this up, please do say that the whole controversy occurred between Sarah's resignation from the Oil/Gas Board and her campaign for governor. Thus, she was in no position at any time during the controversy to exercise any undue influence due to governmental position, not at that time having one.

I know FDR had a GSD that didn't get the same spotlight as "Fellah"...also, either Hoover or Coolidge had what was described as a, "police dog" but the few pics I've seen of it indicate it was mostly, if not all, GSD...and who could blame them...at the time, Rin Tin Tin was one of the most popular (and best paid) celebs in the U.S.A.
Go here for the answer to the 'gator trivia :-)

Hoover I KNOW had the German Shepherd. He was definitely a GS. He’s even featured in some of the histories. I’d say he was more like Strongheart in appearance - the ORIGINAL dog movie star. (Who was unfortunate enough to be overtaken almost immediately by Rin Tin Tin.)

I know RWR had a Bouvier des Flandres, but I could swear somewhere in my memory banks, there's a photo of him with his family and at least 2 GSDs. It may have been at the WH, his CA Ranch or the Gov's mansion, but I KNOW I've seen that pic!! I've searched the internet far and wide, and can't prove it, but it was a great pic. While I was growing up, my dad was a subscriber to TIME magazine (which he has long since cancelled) and kept back copies in our basement...I may have seen it flipping through those. I don't know if they were his, or if the photo was taken at a friend's house, or part of a security detail, or even a movie lot...I just know I saw a pic of RWR with Sheps somewhere, and I simply can't prove it!!!

OK, I’m a bit DUUUUH.
Question: is Sarah Palin Pwned by a German Shepherd or Shepherds yet?
If answer=YES then she should be POTUS.
If answer=NO then she needs to be Shepherd-trained PRONTO... In which case, “Greta” and I Volunteer.
After all, it’s for her own good: she thinks it’s OK to be a mere “Pit Bull” with lipstick. Her standards have clearly fallen. Why be a Pit-Bull-Mungrel-Mutt when instead you can be a GSD?
Sarah deserves better!

He definitely had a Bouvier - apparently a bit rambunctious, and they were suggested to keep him back at the ranch. (Does any president actually have control of their dogs?)
I never heard about Shepherds for Reagan; perhaps he just had a photo with friends’ dogs?
Or are you sure it wasn’t Roy Rogers and all with Bullet? LOL

Definite mention of the GS.
Also, I think when you see “Police Dog”, you are seeing typical UK/Brit naming conventions, since they continued their anethema to having things have “German” in them.
