ITS A GRAND OLD RAG TO DENVER DEMS
The Dem festivities were ened, the charade was done. The original lyrics from George M. Cohans Youre a Grand Old Flag referred to our flag as a grand old rag, using Civil War era slang, which Cohan changed following objections. Denver Democrats apparently preferred the original version.
The party was over and it was time to trash all those flags, said the plain old delegates, the super delegates, the superduper delegates. Now, what to do with the damned things?
It was bad enough that they had to wave them and pretend they cared about the flag but G-d damned America if they wanted to carry them through the streets of Denver or bring them home and display them!
With one call to an American Legion post they could have had them removed and disposed of properly according to the mandates of flag etiquette. But, why bother with all that folderol? They served their purpose of convincing the gullible TV audience that Dems gave a rats petuzzi for flag and country.
So they broke out the Gladd bags and stuffed them all in, all 12000 of them, and prepared to dispatch them to the dump with the rest of the refuse, with the banners and paper cups, with the remnants of hot dogs and burgers, with the spent fireworks, maybe with some used condoms scraped from the bowels of Invesco Field. What else could they do with them?
The good news is that the flags were rescued by an Invesco worker and will be recycled at a Republican rally for McCain/Palin in Colorado Springs where true Americans will wave them with honest pride: http://blogs.denverpost.com/opinion/2008/09/06/republican-recycling/.

Any questions?
Wow. You have to be the biggest ‘blog pimp’ I’ve ever seen.
McCain press release/ad...
“The McCain-Palin campaign demonstrates its commitment to community organizing and cutting costs!
The campaign organized hundreds of young people to retrieve the 12,000 US flags dumped into the trash by delegates of the Democratic National Convention. Many Americans think of these flags in terms like “Old Glory.”
By distributing these trashed flags to patriotic attendees of McCain-Palin rallies, costs of the publicly-funded campaign have been cut by around $10,000.
Senator McCain and Governor Palin have put into practice the community action that Mr. McCain called for in his nomination acceptance speech.”

Now the RATS have just said that they were bagged for pickup by the manufacture for recycling. Lying nitwits. Always have an answer but what about the junk in some of the same bags in some of the pictures.
Chants of “USA! USA!” were often heard at the RNC, but I don’t recall hearing such chants at the DNC.
“It was bad enough that they had to wave them and pretend they cared about the flag...”
You hit the nail right on the head.
Bookmarked.

I cannot believe that have the chutzpah to claim they were being stored for later use and that they were stolen.
Yeah, sure.
Pathetic.
“Caught with his pants down, the Senator blamed a Republican for stealing his belt.”
Yeah, that’s kinda how Gene, Gene the bloggin’ machine rolls.

The Grand Old Rag
(Recorded by Billy Murray, Zonophone #425, 1906)
There’s a feeling comes a stealing and sets my brain a reeling,
When I’m list’ning to the music of a military band.
Any tune like “Yankee Doodle” simply sets me off my noodle,
It’s that patriotic something that no-one can understand.
“Way down South in the land of cotton,” melody untiring,
Ain’t that inspiring!
Hurrah! Hurrah! We’ll join the jubilee,
And that’s going some for the Yankees, by gum!
Red, White and Blue,
I am for you,
Honest you’re a grand old rag.
You’re a grand old rag, you’re a high flying flag,
And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of the land I love,
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev’ry heart beats true under Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never a boast or a brag;
“But should auld acquaintance be forgot,”
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
I’m no cranky, hanky panky, I’m a dead square honest Yankee,
And I’m mighty proud of that old flag that flies for Uncle Sam.
Though I don’t believe in raving ev’ry time I see it waving,
There’s a chill runs up my back that makes me glad I’m what I am.
Here’s a land with a million soldiers, that’s if we should need ‘em,
We’ll fight for freedom!
Hurrah! Hurrah! For ev’ry Yankee Tar
And old G.A.R., ev’ry stripe, ev’ry star.
Red, White and Blue,
Hats off to you,
Honest you’re a grand old rag.
You’re a grand old rag, you’re a high flying flag,
And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of the land I love,
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev’ry heart beats true under Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never a boast or a brag;
“But should auld acquaintance be forgot,”
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
But golly gosh...
They made great back scratchers...

SARA-BRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!
Thanks for that!
It’s was worth it just for the Chris Matthews-Keith Olbermann joke!
ALL the Republican's Fault!!!!
Major Garrett reported that the Dimbulbs were sending them back to the manufacturers for redistribution.
The "Pubs use Fedex, UPS and as a last resort the USPS.
The Dumbocrats use the DumpsterX!
I would pay 100 bucks to see the Matthews Olberman reaction to what Triumph said!!!!
The Dems were indeed chanting but, led by the “Reverend” Wright, their chant was “GOD DAMN THE USA!”
Thanks! Try it! You might like it!

I'm not visiting your blog, no matter how much you pimp and push it on me.
Last time I checked, it is against forum rules to use FR to enhance your business. Web hits help with advertising and you also being unethical with your poor judgement. I however, think you are a proud DU member who is just trying to get the “wingnuts” all whipped up into a frenzy for your own amusement. Seriously, you need to let high school go and start growing up. There will be a time when your “friends” don’t think you are cute.
FYI, I don’t have a “business.”
My blog, if you would make the effort to check it out, is not a business nor do I actively promote my book on my blogsite.
My purpose is to comment on news of the day with what I believe is usually intelligent and pretty well-written observations.
As a retired old dude, 66 years young, I love my country and I believe it is in deep trouble right now. I will continue to post my articles on FreeRepublic.com and on various other sites in my small effort to save it, unless and until I am banished from said sites.
However, if anyone objects to my promoting my website, http://genelalor.com/, please feel free to report me and get me banished.
I’ll survive and will continue my efforts elsewhere to do what little I can for my country.
May God bless America!
Let me be the first to say, I’m sorry. Carry on.
