My hunch that (& why) Hillary doesn't mind that Obama didn't pick her for running mate, SCOTUS

Posted on 08/24/2008 12:16:41 AM PDT by Sun

It's just a hunch, mind you, but Hillary, Bill and even Chelsea will be speaking covering two nights at the Democrat Convention, so it seems they are on friendly terms with Obama, so if Hillary wasn't picked as VP running mate, or even on the short list, what else would appease her, but a promise to be the first judicial nominee for the Supreme Court of the United States.

TOPICS: Government; Politics
KEYWORDS: hillaryclinton; judicialnominees; obama; scotus
The appointment is for life so Hillary would be able to force her "values" on us for the rest of her life. She would fight for abortion, Hillary healthcare, open borders, etc..

There are three branches of government, and they are SUPPOSED to be equal, but because of the activist judges (and nobody does anything about the judges), they are not equal, so Hillary would have tremendous power to ruin the country for a long, long time.

Interesting analysis.

I think that Obama snubbed Hillary because of his rampant narcissism and egocentrism.

My personal belief is that her agents will fight Obama next week and beyond, but it won't be too obvious.

I think they will wage a secret war to undermine his grasp of DNC power, and they will launch a few privately funded ads to derail him this fall.

Hillary might be more interested in a 2012 election bid given her profound pursuit of the Oval Office.

Either way, I am convinced that she is going to make him pay dearly for stealing half of her Michigan and Florida votes, and she is going to subsequently make him pay for swiping what probably should have been her nomination.

I don’t think there is any way Hillary could get confirmed by the senate. The Repubicans in the senate are bad but they know not to go there, ever.

Any potential POTUS including Obama would know this and would never nominate her.

but he didn’t even vet her. I’m not surprised considering that they may not want to know what they’d find.

If obama wins, he won’t owe her anything.

Very good thoughts in your post, all possible.

“I think that Obama snubbed Hillary because of his rampant narcissism and egocentrism.”

I think that Obama just plain doesn’t like Hillary, or then again, maybe he just doesn’t want to worry about having to get a food taster. :)

“I don’t think there is any way Hillary could get confirmed by the senate.”

What if the senate has 60 Dem seats?

Another good reason why we have to fight hard for conservative senators in the elections.

“If obama wins, he won’t owe her anything.”

But if Hillary is promised something she wants, she WILL help him win, and then he would owe her.

The Clintons crave attention and adulation. The Supreme Court doesn’t offer enough of that. The job is virtually invisible to the general public.

You are correct, but the Clinton crime couple have a way of getting attention. I have Clinton burn-out, don’t you? It seems we see, or hear, Bill Clinton more than President Bush.

I think Bill needs attention more than Hillary, but Hillary wants POWER, and she would have both.

She’s probably more racist than the whole of the Democratic Party. Hillary will make her mark next week.

Not even close.

Even the dimmest of dims in the Senate would not confirm her, she does not have anywheres near the depth or breadth of judicial education or experience needed for the job.

But I could be wrong, after all Ginsburg is there...

BO definitely promised her something at that late night meeting at Diane Feinstein’s house after the primaries ended. Hillary doesn’t just go down quietly without getting something she wants.

I don’t understand why Hillary Clinton’s background would need to be investigated. What could possibly come out about any of the Clintons that would change anybody’s vote, either way?

I would imagine that she has a hard enough time with the thought of being second fiddle - to sign on as second fiddle to a train wreck would be worse than stupid. I also believe that those saying Biden was the only idiot arrogant and stupid enough to take the veep slot with the twerp.

They are already waging the secret war. Hillary not being interested in being the VP and then sending out the word, via her handlers how badly she has been treated because she wasn’t even considered for the spot when she didn’t want it anyway. And then showing her pathetic, drained self claiming that she did try to help Obama. The secret war is already on. That’s just a little tip of the ice berg. And her supporters are so upset, because she “wasn’t even vetted.” When Hillary made it clear to Obama she wasn’t interested from the get-go. Really, these people!

I think Obama recognizes that Hitlery is a female version of him - only smarter and thats the reason why he can't stand her.

Honestly, can anyone say that these two people (along with other demonrats) actually, LIKE themselves?

I used to have a friend who is a radical left wing lesbian. After spending just a couple of hours with her I can tell you that Marxists ARE mentally ill!

**Notice NONE of us are voting for McCain ... we’re all voting against Obama.**

Precisely, and the grip on that vote is tenuous at best. While McCain is sounding GOOD right now, to quote Shakespeare ..”His words and his deeds are of NO Acquaintance.”

My consideration of McCain will be based on his choice for VP, as McCain would have been my 8th or 9th CHOICE.

Or... I may just go FISHING!

Ruh-Roh.

That alone should frighten conservatives into voting for him, even if he were to (God Forbid) choose Lieberman as his running mate.

(We could survive a lefty -- and therefore, like Jimmy Dhimmi Carter -- one-term President.)

But having a young replacement for Darth Vader Ginsberg on the Supreme Court? (shudders)

Cheers!

I am not smart enough to tell you that, but I can assure you that she would have had a stronger case as a result.

Hillary won critical states like Kentucky, Massachusetts, Texas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, California, Michigan and Florida.

She won the popular vote in these states, and Dean should have acknowledged that. Dean should have also acknowledged that Hillary had a better chance of winning in November than Obama did.

But that's okay. The fools have nominated a black racist who has never held a real job in his entire life, and that's all that matters.

I hope that Hillary evens the score with Obama.

Obama is one of the primary reasons why she is not receiving the nomination.

Yes we dodged the bullet this time with Obama beating Hillary. That’s why I crossed over and voted for Obama in the North Carolina Primary. However, we gotta look out for the beast in 2012 when McCain is 76 years old and the Republicans would have had the White House for 12 years.

El Rushbo's strategy worked brilliantly.

I just hope that Obama-Biden can survive the floor vote next week! That way, Americans will hopefully end that little punk's campaign once and for all in the General!

Even the Democrats know that they have to be able to feign legitimacy. Were Hillary to join the SCOTUS, that would be difficult.

Ms. Ginsburg may be a political hack, but she certainly was not widely publicly recognized as one at the time of her appointment. The nomination of Ms. Clinton would be almost universally recognized as political--even by those for whom it would be politically favorable--and would thus shatter any mystique the Court may have about being above politics.

I think Obama recognizes that Hitlery is a female version of him - only smarter and thats the reason why he can't stand her.

While the observation is overly simplistic, I would suggest that Hitler and Stalin were not so ideologically different as is often claimed. Hitler's primary ideology was that the whole world should be controlled by Hitler. Stalin's ideology was that the whole world should be controlled by Stalin. Clearly the ideologies were incompatible, but that hardly means they were substantively different.
