OK. So we have had multiple experts declare that the text of Obama's Certificate of Live Birth (COLB) was photoshopped. We have definitive proof that someone in the Obama or Kos camps used a graphics program to black out the certification number. We have been privy to an enterprising new freeper (and townhall blogger) Polarik detail the discrepancies regarding the 'hidden' certification stamp vis a vis the Kos, Obama, openDNA and Decosta examples.
However, to me, the most definitive proof that something is afoul on this COLB is the FACT that the version posted on Obama's official FightTheSmears site is NOT the same as the version posted on DailyKos' site, though they are purported to be a scan of the very same document.
They are not the same. If they were the same but just photoshopped slightly differently to hide the certification number, that would be one thing. However, there is NO VALID EXPLANATION why they would have differing border alignments. This is something I noticed at least two weeks ago, but no one has spent the time to graphically demonstrate it, so here goes.
This is from the Kos webiste, which I reloaded today and zoomed on the lower right corner border alignment. Notice the badly mis-aligned border at the intersection. Somebody did not understand the snap function when this was created:
Now below is the "same" document lifted from Obama's website today, and zoomed similarly. It has poorer quality, but it leaves no doubt that the vertical/horizontal border dividing line is aligned:
So only three scenarios can be possible.
1) Kos and Obama obtained two different versions from Hawaii, and Hawaii has a technical problem with their borders printing out differently.
2) Kos and/or Obama got the document electronically from Hawaii (against all protocol) and they printed out inexplicably different from each other, with Obama's snapping the borders into alignment.
3) These printouts represent separate attempts to photoshop the document to look like the real McCoy.
The probability of the answer being #3 is by far the highest. In any case, they ARE NOT THE SAME DOCUMENT, despite having identical other features such as the bleedthrough date and the same "info". There is some fraud taking place here. It is past time for Obama to release a copy of his original BC and clear the air.

That's the problem. You're starting to take this to an unhealthy level. What do you get if you win? Hillary as the new democratic presidential candidate who will try to win one for the first black presidential candidate who was destroyed by those racist republicans just like they tried to do to destroy her husband?
I say let this go. Obama's such a target rich environment we want him to continue to be their candidate.

You are wrong on this. I just took the larger KOS version and using Photoshop, reduced it to the exact size as the one on the smears site using the Photoshop resize function and converted it from a .gif to a .jpg format. The reduced version looks just like the one on the smears site. This isn’t proof of anything.

Funny, I had them printed out, in various sizes. They all show the same thing.
Did we have any luck getting John Kerry to release his full military record? Specifically his SF-180. Democrats do not feel the necessity to follow law or certain procedures. Obama is not unique in either way.........I don't think there is an issue here, just poor to sloppy to nonexistent important paper keeping; his mother was born in Kansas making him a legal American...it is the Obama family tendency to radicalism about anything that smacks of normality which Barry was brought up in that should worry Americans who would fight for their freedom….something Barry is not want to do….he hasn’t a clue about what it takes to maintain and keep FREEDOM.

I did exactly opposite, took the one from Obama’s site and blew it up to the size of the one on KOS’s site and had the same result. You can get a lot of differences simply by changing some of the settings in the Export Wizard.

Post your methodology. Because no matter how I resized it, the Kos document always had misaligned borders.
There is a big difference between printing something in different sizes and exporting it to various file types and sizes in photoshop. Some type of compression actually remove color or shift colors to a lower pallet. Other compression turns images into what are known as vector images. That is, the computer sees the image as one big mathematical calculation, not as bits. When you just print at different sizes, you are still using the same image so you will get the same basic rendering. When you export an image to various formats and/or compress it, the computer has to completely recreate the image based on the data it has. In the case you did, it is like xeroxing the Mona Lisa, in the latter, (compressing or exporting) it is like the Mona Lisa being completely repainted on a new canvas.

I also resized the Kos document, twice. I still had the misalignment. That is why I’m asking you for your methodology that makes them come into alignment.
1. Copied the image from Obama’s site.
2. Changed the canvas size to match the size on KOS’s site.
3. Resized the image from Obama’s site to match and positioned it at 0,0
4. File > Export Wizard > used Web setting > selected 2 up so I can compare to the original.
5. Changed the format to JPEG Smaller File
6. Selected Progressive Browser Display
7. Changed image quality to 50%
8. Selected Sharpen Color Edges (the shift happened when I did this.)
This resulted in an almost identical to KOS’s image. It looks like they may have sharpened it a bit more.
These aren't unusual settings. They are different than what I normally use because I take images and put them in Flash or Sony Vegas, but they would be normal compression settings for someone wanting to shrink the file size on the web.
If we rule out theories, they can't come back and say see, you are wrong, why should we believe you on any other accusation.
But you know me by now, I take the role of skeptic on everything.

I’m using MS picture manager. I resized Kos’ to match the Obama site’s pixel size. I can still detect misalignment. I do not have Fireworks, so I can’t speak to that.

Also, I am working the opposite as you, instead of trying to remove the misalignment, I am seeing how the misalignment could be created. IE, I am trying to duplicate what the original person who had the certificate would have done to post it on a website.
Moreover, you can see that there is misalignment on the left side EASILY. So why would you NOT assume that both sides are misaligned and the low resolution scan has tricked you.

Don’t know what to tell you then other than Fresh Wind had the same results as I did. Like I said, when I have a chance, I’ll use Captivate to record it and put it into a flash file so you can see a movie of what happens and all the steps.
I pointed out the border alignment issue the first time I saw the image. It is a near certainty that the state of Hawaii buys pre-printed blank certificates from an offset printer, then prints the various details on a laser printer during issuance of the certificate. I cannot fathom an offset printer supplying a state-level customer with junky product like this, period.
I’ve asked on a couple other threads and will ask again here: Does anyone have a link to the valid ObamaMama BC? I’d like to do some comparison in Photoshop CS3 Extended.
