TNR.com:
The new Gallup poll showing McCain and Obama tied is very, very welcome in McCainLand. McCain aides insist that two earlier polls--from Newsweek and the LA Times--showing Obama with a double-digit lead were the result of skewed partisan samples and not reflective of real trouble. But they acknowledge that such polls can shape the media narrative in very problematic ways. So from a meta- perspective, this is a big respite from an impending storyline of a McCain disaster.
Three issues, I feel, hurt Barack Obama this past week: the utter arrogance he displayed in making up his own "Presidential seal", his flip-flopping on the new FISA bill and Michelle Obama's very public pandering to leftist constituencies such as appearing on "The View", catering to gay rights groups and going so far as to support the crazy idea that Hillary Obama got beat by her husband due to "sexism" (as opposed to voters just feeling your hubby was a better candidate Michelle?). However, in the end it'll be his inexperience that'll defeat Barack Obama tho, as well it should be.
If McCain can’t get with Bush and lower energy costs... Obama will be the next Pres of the US
Pretty darn good!
McCain hasn’t even starting campaign.
I wonder if McCain has any Skyhawk Surprises for Obama.
DRILL AND PUMP!!!!!
This has to have Black Oblack shaking in his boots. He should be leading by 20 pts.
If you like $5/gal, Thank Congress. If you want $10, Vote Obama.
Pray for W and Our Troops
Obama killed a Seal that was less than a week old!
Go, John go.
My enthusiasm for McCain has surged somewhat lately. I saw Bill Bennett on C-Span’s BookTV (Going to replay in 20 minutes) give a relatively good endorsement. Even went so far as to say McCain could “rise to the occasion” and carry the mantle of Reagan.
Bennett said McCain’s rock-solid on foreign policy, and that he thinks he’s seen the light on the economy. He was more questionable about McCain on immigration ...
Overall, I am comfortable pulling the lever for McCain. He wouldn’t have been my first choice — but he may actually be the Republicans’ best chance given the beating Republicans and Conservatives have taken lately.
H
This is good news. Just coming out of a marathon primary victoriously over Hillary Clinton, B. Hussein should be far ahead of McCain.
I was wondering if anyone thought about this: The GOP Convention is the first part of September, AFTER the Dems Convention. Shouldn’t that help McCain with the American voters? I mean, it’s sorta like the guy who “gets the last word” wins. He gets a chance at his convention to expose all the lies of B. Hussein and the Dems.
I dunno, maybe that’s stupid.
that poll and article are days old
Obama is beating McCain by 4 points in their latest poll
