Bin Laden Message A Surrender In Iraq?
The Yankee Sailor ^ | 5/21/2008 | The Yankee Sailor

There’s been an intriguing series of events playing out over the past few weeks that appear to be forming a pattern. If you recall the happenings in Iraq from two years ago, Abu Musab Zarqawi was publicly sacked from his position as the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq and it took some time for the organization to name a successor: Abu Ayyub al-Masri.

Al-Masri made his public debut to much fanfare in jihadi circles, but his leadership has proven quite ineffectual, to the extent that the U.S. has slashed the reward for his capture from $5 million to a paltry $100,000 over the course of the last year.

Then, just this week, two new messages from Osama bin Laden were published in conjunction with Israel’s 60th birthday. The first was summarized by the superb new site, Jihadica, as follows:

In his address, Bin Laden stated the “Palestine question” is the chief cause of conflict between Western nations and the Muslim community. It is the ultimate reason why AQ attacked the U.S. on 9/11.

Not only does this represent a bit of historical revisionism on bin Laden’s part (his original struggle was over the presence of U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia) it was also a rebuke of Zawahiri’s recent statements that Iraq would remain the focus of their efforts.

It’s hard to get a good PR firm to get your message out, when your sleeping in a cave with a goat every nite.

bin Laden would do well to have Almighty God touch his life so that he can accept the forgiveness that can be had by believing in The Lord Jesus Christ, the 2nd Person of the Godhead, as His Lord and Savior.

Only in this set of events will he avoid eternal damnation.

He should be on his knees in prayer to Jesus Christ, the only true God.

WTF???

Zarqawi was killed by a US air strike on June 7, 2006, near the town of Baquba! I suppose you could call that sacked, since thats probably what then used to put the bits and pieces in!

I join you in prayer for that eventuality.

Not just because it would save his soul. It would really mess with Islam if Bin Laden gave himself up for execution, professing faith in the true God.

True, but there was an error in my characterization of the situation prior to his death. I've corrected it on my site.

"Not only does this represent a bit of historical revisionism on bin Laden’s part (his original struggle was over the presence of U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia)"

The above is not entirely correct. In Osama's 1998 Fatwa he justifies the mass murder of Americans on there issues:

1) The Palestine cause.
2) Presence of U.S. forces in Saudi Arabia
3) The first Iraq War and the continued sanctions on Iraq.

2) The apostate Arab regimes are the guardians of Israel’s security, so overthrowing these regimes will make liberating Palestine much easier.

Specifically, but not confined to, Lebanon. The difficulty is that the Iranians and Syrians have already stolen a march (literally) on Osama's boys and about all he has left to try is pretending that they're listening to him.

They aren't. Remember that "strong horse" comment, Binnie baby?

All Osama has to do is wait. Then Obama and Osama can have a race to see who can surrender first and most effectively. Maybe if they sit down together and talk, it’ll all be better.
