he does need to explain why he chose to receive religious teaching from an American hating, anti-Semitic radical. It is that decision that we are concerned about. Obama says he does not agree with the ideas of Wright, but why did he choose that church? You ask too many questions. Go away.
HOPE! CHANGE! YES WE CAN! . . .

Erica must really keep her editors busy, judging from the number of mistakes and clichés in her text. I don't want to sound like the style police, but I expected a little more care from a professional writer. Especially one who has attained her level of success.

“Jerry vs. Barry”. . . . Yes, for us in the LCMS, it has another meaning also.

Erica Jong. My goodness what a mind. Glad most people are not quitte so nuanced, subtle, and sophisticated.
Jeremiah Wright is the Pied Piper, and he's leading the Rats down to the river.
He-he-he. This is one virtue of freedom of speech. Fools like Wright and Jong are enabled to show it to the world, which can then make the Right (in two senses of the word: correct and politically right)decisions.

Perhaps Erica Jong should give Jeremiah Wright and Bill Moyers personal lessons in how to overcome their fear of flying Im sure she could help them to become less inhibited, uptight, sexually repressed. . . . Ma Jong is flyin' dirty.
To: MrB
Wright is destructive and probably is looking to score a big advance on a book... Seems we have a HUffie with a few brain cells left.

I believe I’ll be making the iron-on mock up tonight...I might wear it to the next BOD meeting.

One wonders if Ms. Jong is SO concerned about poor children (and living in NYC she certainly has access to plenty of them), instead of jetting off to Italy she doesn’t use that money to buy food and clothing for them. Somehow they only think others should have to give up their slice of the pie. Were we to enact the truly socialist wealth distribution schemes they all have wet dreams about these bash-America Eurotrips would have to come to a screeching halt because she wouldn’t be able to afford them. What an ego.

"God Damn America" indeed. It's because of the faux-patriotism and hyper-nationalism that is forced down the throats of all Americans that you can't seriously address some of the fundamental problems with the country without being ripped apart by the media. The US isn't the wonderful, shining city on the hill that most of you think it is. Rev. Wright is 100% correct in his assertions... But how dare a "black man" speak up ... Racism is alive and well in 21st century America. Can someone explain how any of this person's screed has ANYTHING to do with racism? I've heard this same kind of thing from white Americans as from the Rev. here. If I disagree with white people who say this is that still racist or is it only racist when one disagrees with a person of color? I'm just trying to make sure I understand this week's politically correct rules.

A week ago I told my audience in Rome that in the last several years, I've been ashamed to be an American.
Well get the hell out of America then, you traitorus jackass!

The Italians may have voted for Silvio Berlusconi, but they don't think George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have been good for America or the planet.
Who gives a crap what the Italians think of us!

But I thought "the Italians for the most part looked down their garlic noses" at the Americans. They were looking down their garlic noses at Jesus.
And only He knows what a "garlic nose" might be.

Erica may have second thoughts after she has digested Rev Wright's speech to the Detroit NAACP We would need to concede that she's had some first thoughts in order for that to be possible.

You know, I thought Erica Jong died some time ago.
I mean, doesn’t she date back from, well, quite a ways back?

Ma Jong, like Nora Ephron, is a 1960s educated northeast liberal writer now in her mid-to-late 60s. Erica's 15 minutes of fame came in the mid-1970s, when she wrote a best-selling book and did the talk-show circuit.
Now Ma Jong and Nora! Nora! Nora! are both reduced to writing for HuffPo.

[To get his street creds from a community with which he was unconnected. Otherwise no election to political office.]Thank you for being the first person to point out why Obama or any other politician would hook up with a lunatic like this. Every major city has one or two marxist black churches which act as certification services for a pol's blackness and proper ideology. Kwame Kilpatrick in Detroit had to hit all of them to try and recharge his street creds.
These leftist pastors are kingmakers in all-RAT cities like Detroit. Not only do they wield unchallenged power, they make pretty good money at it, too.

And I bet her books suck. I read FEAR OF FLYING years ago, back when I was impressionable enough to fall for the liberal claptrap. I will admit, the book was interesting. Seen today, though, it is completely amoral -- just like Jong herself -- and tedious.
These liberal writers are great stylists. Their writing is always fun. But their thinking is distorted. Maybe it's the nature of the beast --in the secular world, anything goes, so these yuppie types have an easy grace about them. But they have absolutely no content.
I may enjoy the writing itself, then after finishing it realize that I've been had.
Which is why I don't take Jong seriously. As soon as I saw her name in this post, I knew what direction her article was heading.
