My sister (who is not always reliable) just called to say she heard FT in an interview where he said if he does not win in SC he is going to drop out and endorse JM.

Before I call her back and yell at her, has anyone else heard this (reliably).

Unite for Fred in South Carolina to knock the slimeball *uckabee out of the race once and for all.
He needs a crushing defeat delivered by fellow southerner Thompson. Otherwise his slimeball tactics will continue.

It’s not true.
This is part of *uckabee slimeball whisper campaign against Fred.
*uckabee is running to be McCain’s VP.
That’s why he’s parrotting back all of McCain’s positions.

Before I call her back and yell at her, has anyone else heard this (reliably).I believe she is not being truthful. As of this morning, in every interview I have seen, Fred has been quite clear, that he is in it to win. She is probably relaying information 2nd hand. I doubt seriously she saw FT say anything of the sort. Ask her what source presented this.

Fred would be foolish to even discuss giving his support to another candidate BEFORE the SC primary. I don’t believe it.

Call her back and yell at her. That is the kind of crap that they pulled before. I can see why, it worked last time, why not try again. There seems to be nothing too low for some candidates.

I wouldn’t doubt the Huckster would do this. But I wouldn’t count out Romney or McCain’s people either. And here is story from back in December where the Huckster was thought to be involved in push polling in New Hampshire.

Statement from Thompson Campaign:

Mike Huckabee's campaign to be John McCain's Vice President has hit a snag. He has gone from the mid-thirties in Iowa to 11% in New Hampshire and now about 15% in Michigan.

My sister is really a fine person but has the political brains equal to a bowl of pudding. I could not believe it myself. Why would any candidate drop out when the primaries are so front load and only what three weeks till super Tuesday.

*uckleberry does not represent any faction of the Republican Party.

He apparently forgot that the Party does not tolerate any form of such negative campaigniing against an opponent of the same Party!

Or he does not care!

I was at one time would vote for him but I finally stepped into the Sunshine of Reality!

That just isn’t true. He has been emphasizing the opposite. The person who has been saying that is Ed Rollins(aka the Huckaworm) and it is a lie. Fred has enough money to carry him through Florida and into Super Tuesday. So whoever your sister heard this from it was not from Fred Thompson.

They are afraid of people realizing he is simply his own man. That he isn’t looking for a VP spot or looking to help McCain.
That he stepped forward to give us the opportunity to vote for an unshackled man. We who vote for him will have did it in honor of those who built the foundation of this country and those who don’t will be voting for more of the same. Lots of promises of cost free Health care and flowers and sweetmeats for everyone. Throw in a hallelujah and Christians will vote for anyone, that is the message they are sending. That even a man who has so little judgment as to free rapists and murders is eligible for the Presidency in their eyes.

These same people would have lifted up Judas to the Presidency.

Yeah Fred said on the Sean Hannity Radio program yesterday that if he doesn’t do well enough in SC, he said he would realize the American people don’t want him, and he will end his campaign.

He did NOT say he would support John McCain though.

I am sad he would not stick it out. SC is the first state primary that has any ambulance of conservatives and there are others after that, in addition with front loaded primaries why would any candidate drop out.

I am VERY happy that he did not say he would support JM.

Some pulled the same stunt in Iowa. That was supposed to be from a source within the McCain campaign, but it looked more like it came from the Romney campaign trying to upset the Thompson and McCain campaigns.

The push polls supposedly from Huckabee against Thompson might be from another campaign too. Whoever authorized it, I hope it backfires. This kind of stuff is more likely to influence me to vote for the guy being attacked rather than the other way around, but like most Freepers I suspect, I’m probably not your average voter.
