Also, anyone who thinks that those docs weren't forged is really gullible. Their modern appearance is just the first giveaway. The timeline and terminology are wrong,too. The Thornburgh report's expert found them to be fakes, as did most other experts. Even the experts CBS hired to authenticate the docs say they were fakes. I'm looking forward to the trial, if it ever goes forward, for the sheer entertainment value. Except that it is kind of sad to see Rather humiliate himself this way.

nobody has proved the memos to be faked - period. the only gullible folks are those who believe Bush to be some kind of supreme protector with a wellspring of integrity. he's as big a fraud and a phony as anyone.

[Yeah. Modern typeface and superscripts were used back in the 70s on military bases that didn't have the equipment to produce them. They HAVE to be authentic.]

I remember when this hit and we still had a 1970 era typewriter at our shop that was being repaired. It was one of the most modern ones we ever had for that era, and it had NO superscript capability.

It was such a great moment in alternative media (Rush was talking about this yesterday, not the TANG docs but was explaining the difference between Viet Nam and Iraq to a young skull full of mush) but I was watching it unfold as Buckhead (may his screen name be ever revered) picked the documents apart. I also look forward to a televised trial.

Yes, way back in the '70's a young Karl Rove convinced a TANG secretary to send the memo to a print shop where it would be printed with proportional fonts and superscript. He wasn't sure why he did that; he just knew it would come in handy later.

CBS is afraid if they tell the truth about Danny Boy, and he tells the truth about CBS, it will be Mutual Assured Destruction Time, reputation-wise.

They’ll offer to pay him some “Shut Up And Go Away” money, like they did with Mapes. Nowhere near what he is asking for. It will be cheaper than the legal fees, plus the risk that some wacko jury will actually find for the moonbat. The only question is, is Danny Boy smart enough to take it, or will he “fight to the death on this hill.”

If he fights then the real entertainment begins.

OK, it looks like there are 2 acceptable lines of thought. We aren’t supposed to notice that they completely contradict each other because if the first one turns out to be false than the second MUST be true:

1. The documents have never been PROVEN (i.e. no proof will ever be enough) to be false, therefore they are REAL.

2. The “bogus” TANG documents were planted by Karl Rove to bring down Dan Rather (the only one “speaking moonbat to reality”).
