One, that the radicals have done a good job of propagandizing.

You couldn't be more worng Mr. President. It is not merely a minority of Muslims perpetrating the violence. Islam is built on the precept non Muslims are to be subjugated to Islam, convert to Islam or Destroyed.

This notion is held by many, if not most people: that God can be apprehended by man in various ways, even though this is not what He says of Himself as written by the Holy Spirit in the biblical texts.

It is incumbent upon the President on the united States to serve and protect people of all faiths, and to enjoin the unity guaranteed by our Constitution. We pray for him and all our leaders, and give him the benefit of the doubt just as we would our neighbors. But we need not accept his notion that all major religions "pray to the same God."

It is one thing to claim exclusivity when it comes to addressing God. It is another to do so by threats and violence. Remember what befell John the Baptist who merely spoke the truth. The same thing may happen to those who speak truly of God today.

Fortunately this world is passing, and we look for the life of the world to come through Christ Jesus, Who is risen from the dead and lives and rules to all eternity on behalf of all who belive in His Name.

Bush needs to step down and turn the presidency over to Cheney. He favors Mexicans over Americans (besides his amnesty proposals for the millions of illegals, he is siding with Mexico on the Medillin case in Texas, where an illegal from Mexico - Medillin - and his gang-banging buds gang-raped and murdered two young teenage girls, a crime for which he was convicted and sentenced to execution. Mexico, of course, opposes the execution, and complained, and Bush is agreeing with Mexico and wants the perv’s execution stopped and maybe even have him granted a new trial!). That, and his stubborn insistence that islam means “peace” (it does not, it means “submission”) and that the god of islam is the same God as Christianity and Judaism just shows that he has lost all contact with reality and thus has forfeited his privilege to serve as our president. I like the guy, personally, and I’m sure he’d be fun to chat with and bike with, but he has blown it as president.

President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, "whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God" – an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003.

If that's the case, then why is it that those praying to Allah want to exterminate the chosen people of Yahweh?

Is God schizophrenic?

Bush jumped the shark. Moderate Muslims lay low because they know Jihadists keep a little black book, and the more we give in to Islam, the less likely that moderate Muslims will ever speak up. And I believe people who murder the innocent to achieve political objectives aren't religious people, whether they be a Christian who does that – we had a person blow up our – blow up a federal building in Oklahoma City who professed to be a Christian, but that's not a Christian act to kill innocent people.

It is however, an islamic act. Even if the Oklahoma city bomber was "Christian" that's one "Christian bombing" against thousands of Islamic bombings, shooting, shelling, and rocketing. There is no comparison except for propaganda purposes, Mr. President. Let's try a new track, Mr. President, speaking the truth. Let's try it for a month and see what happens.

I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace

Bush is a clueless dolt. The guy doesn't have any principles. If he read the Koran, he'd know that it preaches "peace" as a stalling tactic for only so long as it takes to build up your forces and acquire superior weapons.

Bush has been a great let-down. I'm glad I did not vote for him in 2004. If it had not been for the Swift Boat Vets, there would have been a Kerry victory.

I'm not sure Bush is "right" on the war on terror. I think maybe that Bush is giving his rabid "kill em all" supporters what they want in order to distract them from him giving his Mexican masters the control they want over the United States.

I am very glad we got Bush instead of Kerry, but dang. Bush can be a real idiot at times.....this is one of them.

This isn't the first time he's displayed his ignorance when it comes to understanding global norms, customs and soevereignty. His vision for a "new America" began years ago.

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. This is a kind of a "the Earth is flat" statement. And it does, in a Liberal sense, "equate". That is, all religions are equal, all people are equal, all countries and cultures are equal, everything everywhere is equal. All religions are equal. It is all about 'equality' and moral equivilancy.

It is a difference to give people of other religions the right to pray to their totems or to their idols than to share such with them. Western nations provide a free society that gives even ridiculous confessions the possibility of existence. This privilege is what muslims in the western world utilize with their so called “Allah”. Nevertheless “islam” is a inferior cult and everybody -including the US-President- knows that very well. Therefore it is inappropriate to mix their idol with the Christian God. It is de facto blasphemy to do so.

President Bush fights for convicted illegal criminals and claims that all religions are the same. Apparently he does not know the meaning of the word 'conviction'.(and he probably doesn't) What the Libs do not understand is that the Muzzies and the criminals have enough people siding with them already. They do not need or expect America to be their advocates.

As requested by the Bush administration, the high court will hear arguments in the fall on the case of Jose Medellin to escape execution…because he was denied a chance to get legal assistance from the Mexican Consulate.

While I agree that there is only one God, I am less convinced that the Muslim view of God has anything to do with the universal concept of doing good in the world as homage to an all good and loving God. Western civilization, based on Judeo-Christian values, has evolved a world view that individual freedom ,including the freedom of belief and tolerance, is a God given right. The Muslim view that it is a duty to convert the whole world to Islam runs very contrary to that concept.

The difference is much bigger, but American Muslims may liberalize Muslimism the way American Catholics liberalized Catholicism.

Through the 19th Century and into the 20th, the popes thought to equally condemn atheistic communism and secular liberalism; e.g., protestant northern Europeans. But, in the 20th Century, and largely because of the American bishops, the popes came to see that democratic and capitalistic values could co-exist with Christian values although we must always also affirm the values of equal rights (including the right to life), the family, and charity for the poor. Nowadays, conservative protestants and Catholics in the U.S. and elsewhere in the world often find themselves allied in promoting Christian values.

The violence of radical Muslims is clearly worse than the violence than was ever involved in the conflict in western Christianity. It is somewhere between that level of violence and the level of violence of atheistic totalitarians like Hitler, Stalin and Mao; and, radical Muslim violence may rise to the level of violence of Hitlet et al depending on the success of the radicals in restoring the Caliphate. So, the challenge to moderate Muslims, to suppress the violence of their co-religionists, is enormous. But, if moderate Muslims can do this, it would be a great service to all mankind.

I have thought about the promise that God has given to us, that Jesus will return and establish his kingdom. The Bible says when he returns, God’s Name will be one, meaning that all the people of the world will know God’s character. Implicit in this, is that God’s Name will not be one until Jesus returns. So, wanting Jesus to return, and to return now, I have accepted that until he does, we who seek to know God are going to have to live with others seeking to know God who differ from us.

He is right God wears many masks.

I think there is a hidden side to religions. that hidden side was very commonly referred to as the “Mysteries” in ancient religions and Christianity had its own “mysteries”. They unite the religions as coming form a single source. There was a face for the religion for the masses and a secret side for the illumined.

That being said there are two religions that do not seem to have it in their scriptures. One of them is the Mormons and the other one is Islam. There is also another point that if a group soul of a religion becomes poisoned with hate and violence it will bring down the religion. For those reasons I am very dubious of Islam. With a war on terrorism I can understand Bush’s sucking up to Islamites so we can get what Little help we can get (we need it). But it is up to US to tell the truth about Islam.
