Bush: All religions pray to 'same God'
WorldNetdaily.com ^ | October 7, 2007

Posted on 10/07/2007 4:50:54 AM PDT by Man50D

President George Bush has repeated his belief all religions, "whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God" – an assertion that caused outrage among evangelical leaders when he said it in November 2003.

Bush made the statement Friday in an interview with Al Arabiya reporter Elie Nakouzi.

Al Arabiya is Al Jazeerah's top competitor in the Mideast.

As the president and Nakouzi walked from the Oval Office to the Map Room in the White House residence, Nazouki asked, "But I want to tell you – and I hope this doesn't bother you at all – that in the Islamic world they think that President Bush is an enemy of Islam – that he wants to destroy their religion, what they believe in. Is that in any way true, Mr. President?"

"No, it's not," said Bush. "I've heard that, and it just shows [sic] to show a couple of things: One, that the radicals have done a good job of propagandizing. In other words, they've spread the word that this really isn't peaceful people versus radical people or terrorists, this is really about the America not liking Islam.

"Well, first of all, I believe in an Almighty God, and I believe that all the world, whether they be Muslim, Christian, or any other religion, prays to the same God. That's what I believe. I believe that Islam is a great religion that preaches peace. And I believe people who murder the innocent to achieve political objectives aren't religious people, whether they be a Christian who does that – we had a person blow up our – blow up a federal building in Oklahoma City who professed to be a Christian, but that's not a Christian act to kill innocent people.

Who is baal? Who is molech? Oh that’s right, they are a couple of the ‘other’ gods that Yahweh warned us NOT to follow. But, I suppose Yahweh could be wrong about there being other gods.

Bush is right. There is only one God.
You are right. By definition.

Unless you're an animist, or an ancient Roman or Greek. (Or perhaps a Hindu. Do they believe in multiple gods or just multiple demigods?)

Please Understand Bush labors under a dual load— #1 he was
raised a Methodist(not necessarily a born again Christian kind of Bible believing theology) #2 he is a politician( who believes in the secular reilgion of State over religion) True Islam is a bloody religion of conquest and
forced submission it is a bloody cult. But to an American
President that is a moot point to be rejected in favor of
diplomatic Kissey Face— now pass the bowl around I gotta puke.

You are mistaken. Christians believe there is only one God.

If there is only one God, then non Christians praying to god are praying to the Christian God.

The theology and dogma are different, but there is but one God. On that point there is agreement.

It is however, an islamic act. Even if the Oklahoma city bomber was "Christian" that's one "Christian bombing" against thousands of Islamic bombings, shooting, shelling, and rocketing.

What branch was he from? Can't say that I heard much about that. Did he quote from the Bible before hand? I have a feeling his religion wasn't his driving force!

Because people that never voted for him in the first place need affirmation? LOL

Apparently you are just as out of touch as Bush. Most of these people, including myself, voted for this idiot. The lesser of two evils. We are completely disgusted with his continous lack of respect for U.S. soveriegnty, his conservative base and U.S. citizenship. And, now you can add his lack of respect for Christianity - the very people that elected him. Or, do you believe he was elected by atheists who defected from the left?

It is a difference to give people of other religions the right to pray to their totems or to their idols than to share such with them. Western nations provide a free society that gives even ridiculous confessions the possibility of existence. This privilege is what muslims in the western world utilize with their so called “Allah”. Nevertheless “islam” is a inferior cult and everybody -including the US-President- knows that very well. Therefore it is inappropriate to mix their idol with the Christian God. It is de facto blasphemy to do so.

“SO a just God completely ignores the prayers of a billion people in the world because their understanding of just who and what he is, is completely messed up?”

The first thing a just God must do is what he SAYS he will do. As far as peoples understanding of Him being ‘completely messed up’ that isn’t something that just happens to a person, it is something that people can control. White supremacists have an understanding of God that, I’m sure, God despises. In the matter of the many disparate peoples of the globe; this is why I think it a good idea to support the Christian missionaries.

Sticking to the one premise of yours that specifically regards this thread, I am offended by the notion that Bush is a religious leader. And he is certainly not a theologian, nor does anyone expect him to be (except the Baptist and Evangelical quoted in this article).

You may just as well be arguing that Bush should issue a fatwa.

President Bush fights for convicted illegal criminals and claims that all religions are the same. Apparently he does not know the meaning of the word 'conviction'.(and he probably doesn't) What the Libs do not understand is that the Muzzies and the criminals have enough people siding with them already. They do not need or expect America to be their advocates.

http://thevoice.name/?p=458

As requested by the Bush administration, the high court will hear arguments in the fall on the case of Jose Medellin to escape execution…because he was denied a chance to get legal assistance from the Mexican Consulate.
The Mexican citizen was sent to Texas’ death row in the notorious 1993 rape-murder case…Texas Court of Criminal Appeals said the Republican president had overstepped his authority in ordering the state court reviews.
(Hey Bush, why don’t you fight that hard for Ramos, Compean, & Hernandez? I have never seen such blatant unfairness in my life.)

Christianity is about love, forgiveness and redemption. Is-Lame is about centralized power and CONTROL. Christianity is about the exercise of free will given by a loving god. Is-Lame is about centralized power and CONTROL. Christianity is about freely choosing to do what's RIGHT because one believes that there is a RIGHT. Is-Lame is about power and CONTROL - PERIOD. I think this is at the core of the current love affair between Is-Lame and the Left, because both believe that humanity must be FORCED to do the right thing, while Christianity and Western precepts allow the individual the freedom to choose what they believe and why. As to whether " God completely ignores the prayers of a billion people in the world because their understanding of just who and what he is, is completely messed up " I can not say. I do not claim to know the mind of god nor do I speak for god so I can not say whose prayers may be answered or ignored or for what reasons, but just because a great number of people (1 billion or so) follow a false god and are trapped in a primitive pagan religion does not make that religion any more legitimate or true, either. How many millions followed the false Humanist pseudo religions of Socialism and Fascism in the last century? Did the numbers involved make those false religions true or legitimate? This is a specious argument of convenience.

Our Christian God is a Triune God. In what way is Allah or Buddha a triune god? In other words, who are the other two embodiments of each?........i.e.........how can all three be the same god? (rhetorical question, of course).

It seems that GW is taking some very weird action or position every couple days now, or making some inexplicable statement......and it's becoming rather scary.

The next presidential election can't come quickly enough for me.

“WE are free to openly scoff at the concept of “Islam is a Religion of Peace”. Our CIC is not.”

True, I agree with you that our CIC should not make negative comments about Islam. His job is to try to build bridges and be diplomatic. However, must he declare (lie) to the world that “Islam is a religion of peace”? I can’t help but think that he really believes what he says or he would at least stay silent about it.

This ridiculous statement, wide open Borders, persecution of LEO’s on the Border such as Ramos and Compean, the NAU, suing the State of Texas to halt the execution of a viscious killer to uphold a decision of the so-called “Internation Court of Justice, the PC conduct of the War and a host of other policies are evidense of what a fraud he really is.

I think such judgements come under the heading of “his call”. I don’t get worked up over this issue, the way others do. If he were using such inane statements as justification to cut-n-run from Iraq, that would be another matter. But he’s obviously not.

Don’t get me wrong. There’s plenty to criticize our President for. I just don’t think this is that big a deal.

I’d rather keep the issue of jailed Border Patrol Agents on the front burner and pressure Bush to pardon those two guys, and (fantasy of fantasies) fire that traitor Johnny “President’s Good Friend” Sutton.

I have no problem fighting over "values" i.e. keeping someone from power who thinks it is OK to kill or beat you if you don't have a beard or wear a skirt too short.

I have a big problem fighting over "theology" killing people because they believe something different about God including disbelief.

The President is absolutely right to keep the "war on terror" from becoming a war about religion.

> I think it’s really more like the guy that wrote the
> Koran, commands his minions...

According to any Moslem, however secularized or radicalized, “allah” wrote the Koran through his “prophet”, Mohammed.

If you haven’t already, you should read it.

It’s a bloody screed if ever there was one.

Basically, “allah” gives the unbelieving three options.

1. Be Converted

2. Be enslaved

3. Be killed

The moslem must do more good than evil, and the only guarantee that the moslem has to enter “paradise” is martyrdom, which is defined in the Koran as to die while killing infidels.

Again, the ONLY guarantee of an afterlife in paradise for a Moslem, is to die while killing infidels.

Other than that, there are NO guarantees that your good will outweigh your bad.

Now read the New Testament.

2. (Yahweh) God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet ninners, Christ died for us.

3. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Yahshua ha Messhiach), and you shall be saved.

4. For by GRACE are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; It is a GIFT of (Yahweh) God, NOT OF WORKS,
lest any man should boast.

And MOST of all;

1. Where the spirit of the Lord (Yahweh) is, there is Liberty.

We have freedom of religion in this country BECAUSE it was founded on the CHRISTIAN belief in FREE CHOICE. The Spirit of the Lord was indeed present at the founding of this nation, and that is why there was LIBERTY.

To the degree that Yahweh God is excluded and rejected, our liberties will be taken away.

Yahweh is NOT AT ALL the same God as “allah”.

“Terrorism” is a tactic.

To say “War on Terror” is stupid, it’s like saying a “War on Bliztkrieg” or “War on Kamikaze”...ignoring the real threat.

What Bush missed right after 9-11 is that we were hit by JIHADISTS.

His “Axis of Evil” did not even contain Wahhabists.

George Bush has gotten us into a HUGE mess in Iraq, and still refuses to believe that Jihad and Shariah our the true threats.

Mr. President, if you wish to pray to Satan (aka the demon calling itself ‘allah’) you are free to do so.

As for me and my house, we will serve the One True God, manifested in human form as Jesus Christ, Who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and NOBODY goes to the Father (not even you sir) except by HIM.

Remember that on Judgment Day.

While I agree that there is only one God, I am less convinced that the Muslim view of God has anything to do with the universal concept of doing good in the world as homage to an all good and loving God. Western civilization, based on Judeo-Christian values, has evolved a world view that individual freedom ,including the freedom of belief and tolerance, is a God given right. The Muslim view that it is a duty to convert the whole world to Islam runs very contrary to that concept.

He's also a God of justice, which requires punishment. His future return to earth will be all about both.

And be careful - you just separated the "Jewish" God from the "Christian" God, when in fact they are one and the same. Even more specifically, He chose Israel long before including all of us - we are grafted into THEIR tree. Read Romans 11. He was their God first and only by His grace we can join the family of Israel.
