As a general rule I am opposed to ad hominem attacks and disapprove of dismissing an opinion merely because it comes from a new poster and I will not do so now even as I note that Darvin Dowdy registered only today so he could post this screed as his visiting card.
On the whole Dowdy is right, Bush and Rove have alienated the base and, by their obdurancy on the issue of immigration, have jeopardized the war in Iraq, in turn, the war against terror, and finally, their own legacy.
On the other hand, Dowdy deserves no credit for his observations. We have known these things for a quite a while and have not been bashful about saying so. Darvin Dowdy, it is unseemly to come bursting on the stage without any credentials to tell us what we already know and to say it without any supporting citation, example, or even illustration.
What you say is not wrong because you are new but it is wrong to say it in the way you did.
