Bowing Toward Mecca
Myself ^ | Dec. 3rd, 2006 | JJ

Pope Benedict's comments that caused an uproar among the Muslim population of the world were accurate. His quote was as follows: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Byzantine Emperor Manuel II Paleologus, 1391. ~ There is nothing here to apologize for, and yet the Pope has found it necessary to visit mosques and bow toward Mecca, as onlookers described, "like a Muslim". By performing such an act, he may as well have opened his arms to all Islamo-Fascists and invited them to invade the West. His repeated attempts at an apology, even if veiled, were a sign of weakness. The great Catholic Church...reduced to apologizing and cow-towing to a society of destruction and hatred...how sweet it is to have such a leader at the Vatican.

You're over-reacting.

When will we see a major Muslim leader come to the Vatican, kneel and cross himself?

Actually, I think is straight up slander -- it certainly has no basis in fact, but rather, is a fabrication based on willful misrepresentations and innuendo.

Therefore, I remain, respectfully,

I was taught to give people the benefit of the doubt, especially to someone of the intelligence and moral fiber of Pope Benedict. We should all thank the Lord for giving us this Pope at this time.

I found the trip to Turkey disappointing as well. If we are ever to be protected against terror fanatics, it will take spiritual and political leadership unafraid to call Islam what it really is--a world-wide scourge.
