but my point is, why do they think that we will not eventually use their own tactics against them While it's not considered kosher to use clinical definitions for a group, as opposed to individuals, look up "narcissistic personality disorder" and see how it applies to the DUmmies. To directly answer the question, they believe either or both of that they are untouchable by such tactics and/or that we aren't clever enough to use them.

They know they can never get support from those silly people who believe in democracy, so they get into power on lies and pack the courts with people who think like them. That way they can circumvent the entire "Of the people, by the people, and for the people" concept which they loathe so much.
Whenever a lefty starts harping on how the love democracy and the people, I always counter with "Then you have no problem letting the people decide on abortion and gay marriage" That ALWAYS shuts them up.
