The 14th worldwide meltdown of Muslims caused by Pope
Pierre Legrand's Pink Flamingo Bar ^ | Pierre Legrand

Posted on 09/15/2006 10:10:59 AM PDT by PierreLegrand

Pope Benedict is starting to give me reasons to rejoin the Catholic Faith. If there is such a thing as speaking truth to power then he is fully committed to such a course. No namby pamby beating around the bushes, he goes straight for the central issue regarding Islam’s dealings with the West. The debate about whether Islam can be reformed enough must center around Mohammed himself, his life, his example, since Islam revolves around him. If Mohammed was a radical then exactly how is the religion to reform itself without losing its soul.

The Muslims are going to ruin their career over buring pictures of the Pope. They should consult with Sinead O'Connor on this issue.

"The 14th worldwide meltdown of Muslims caused by Pope"

Islam is meltdown just waiting to happen. Maybe now the timid Western leaders can take courage from the Pope's words and begin to call islam what it really is. But I'm guessing that Tony Snow will inform the President that Pope Benedict called islam a 'religion of peace', and the media just misinterpreted him.

I think that might have been the purpose of his speech. It was a rallying cry to Catholics. The Pope gave a strong signal that the Catholic Church isn't going to let Western Civilization close their eyes to the centuries old struggle between Christianity and Islam.

(Or maybe since last year, if they're only counting ones where the Pope had some connection to it.)

I would more admire the Pope if he were to take a real stand against radical islam. This comment was taken out of context and superficially looks like a criticism but in fact is not. The Pope should warn Christianity that a real threat is out there and that all Christians everywhere should beware the radical interpretation of muhammad's teachings. The church seems to be taking a politically correct path tiptoeing around the critical issues.

By the way, welcome to Free Republic.

Fourteenth Worldwide Muslim Meltdown
With apologies to:

19TH NERVOUS BREAKDOWN
(Jagger/Richards)

You're the kind of person
You meet at certain dismal dull affairs.
Center of a crowd, talking much too loud
Running up and down the stairs.
Well, it seems to me that you have seen too much in too few years.
And though you've tried you just can't hide
Your eyes are edged with tears.

You better stop
Look around
Here it comes, here it comes, here it comes, here it comes
Here comes your fourteenth worldwide Muslim Meltdown.

When you were a child
You were treated kind
But you were never brought up right.
You were always spoiled with a thousand toys
But still you cried all night.
Your mother who neglected you
Owes a million dollars tax.
And your father's still perfecting ways of making sealing wax.

You better stop, look around
Here it comes, here it comes, here it comes, here it comes
Here comes your nilne-teenth nervous breakdown.

Oh, who's to blame, that girl's just insane.
Well nothing I do don't seem to work,
It only seems to make matters worse. Oh please.

You were still in school
When you had that fool
Who really messed your mind.
And after that you turned your back
On treating people kind.
On our first trip
I tried so hard to rearrange your mind.
But after while I realized you were disarranging mine.

You better stop, look around
Here it comes, here it comes, here it comes, here it comes
Here comes your fourteenth worldwide Muslim Meltdown.
Here comes your fourteenth worldwide Muslim Meltdown
Here comes your fourteenth worldwide Muslim Meltdown

The avalanche of Islam is the Flip side of the "Liberals in denial" syndrome.

The history of Islamic victories is the parade of capitulations by tired, demonalized, weakened, internally paralyzed societies.

Like a bacterial infection, Islam spreads in an sick host - not in a well one.

What career?

Their fame and stardom career. It's been going bonkers these past few years for Muslims.

Disaffected youth, rebelling against their Christian Conservative parents, have been converting to Islam like crazy. The Muzzies take the number 1 or number 2 billing on the prime time news shows nearly every night. The Daily Show with Jon Stewart even sought out and hired a Muslim reporter/comedian. Look at all the Hollywood stars lining up to talk about how great the Muslims are and how bad mean ol' President Bush is. The Muslims are really hot on college campuses right now, too. Especially the Ivy League colleges.

People are protesting for them, people are protesting against them, people are drawing editorial cartoons about them.

Thousands of soldiers from the U.S. and allied nations have gone to the Middle East ... all for the Muzzies.

All this attention is really helping their career and bringing Islam back to the forefront of the world.

Of course, trashing the Pope makes it all pretty untenable now. Some folks let the fame and fortune go to their heads and they think they're untouchable. I realize it's a different Pope, and maybe since this one has already come under fire from the liberals for being a "Nazi" the Muslims can weather whatever storm comes along from this. We'll just have to see how bad their second album is.

The Church does not exist to be "politically correct."

The Pope was speaking to his own and giving them reason to consider the times in which we live.

I believe there was no other reason for his words.

It's better to appreciate that than to complain "why not more?"

"I would more admire the Pope if he were to take a real stand against radical islam."

What? Pope Benedict has taken a firm stand, not only against "radical" islam, but against islam itself. This is something neither Bush nor any other Western leader has the guts to do. Just recently the Holy Father stated that "islam and democracy will never mix until islam decides to reinterpret the koran", (paraphrase). That, my friend, is a complete condemnation of all of islam. The man in the White House still calls them a "religion of peace", and he commands the greatest army on earth. Even with all this might behind him, President Bush will quote that Greek philosopher who called Islam "brutal and inhuman" when Hell freezes over. Islam is on fire, literally, because of the Pope's words and his stance, and you have the b@lls to say the Pope isn't taking a stand? Pure ignorance on your part.

If you are looking, however, for the Pope to give instruction, courage and leadership to the West's timid leaders, I think he does that rather wonderfully, as a religious leader; but most of the West's leaders are self-styled 'born agains' or other non-Catholics who aren't looking to the Pope for political or spiritual guidance in the first place, nor would they follow it if offered. But hey, this is Free Republic, where the majority of members seem to be anti-Catholic bigots anyway, so fire away at the only leader on earth with the b@lls to call islam what it really is, "brutal and inhuman".

We are at war. Where does our spiritual leader stand in relationship to that war? The focus of this war is reminiscent of the muslim invasion of Europe in the middle ages. We need someone to wake us up, not reassure us that everything can be peacefully resolved. If there is one thing that has become crystal clear in the last several years it's that the conflict between radical islam and Christianity cannot be peacefully resolved. The Pope is in the crosshairs of islamofacists. I believe the only reason they do not actively attempt his assassination is because they realize they have not yet infiltrated and marginalized Christianity adequately yet.

Ephesians 6

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

What we are seeing is the death throes of traditional Islam. What civilization on the rise enlists suicide attacks and recruits children into the military? These where the acts of Japan and Germany during the darkest months just before the end.

Traditional Islam cannot survive in competition with western ideas, culture, and technology. The Imams know this. That is why they retreat to the wilderness and confiscate satellite dishes. This is their last attempt to stop time and recall the days centuries past when Islam was spread by the sword.

They are not going down without a fight. The goal of the West is to hasten the reformation and minimize loss of life on our side. The Pope's words will help because we need to identify evil in order to fight it.

Yes they do. The Pope is infallible in matters of interpretation of the scriptures and in that context he has no peer and deserves no criticism. In all other matters he is as fallible as I and as such is subject to criticism. Your critical assessment of a "practicing" Catholic tells me a lot. Any Catholic who shares in the bread is equal in the eyes of the church and should beware any who claim more piety.

"Your critical assessment of a "practicing" Catholic tells me a lot."

Interesting, isn't it, how it's a good thing for a "practicing" Catholic to criticize the Holy Father, but a bad thing to criticize a lay "catholic" who criticizes the Pope.

In any case, though the Holy Father is certainly fallible in non-doctrinal matters, who are you to criticize this man for not being more condemning and confrontational with islam? Should he himself be the spark of WWIII or worldwide riots? Does he need to speak like Michael Moore, cutting to the bone to make his point? He spoke of Islam's evil theology in his speech, and he spoke of other evils which permeate our times, (such as weak-kneed Catholics and the falling away from the faith). Pope Benedict has lamented the evils of islam on several other occassions in recent months as well. I think maybe you should either read more or gain a better understanding of what the Holy Father's job description is. You yourself said he is fallable in matters not pertaining to faith and morals, so I guess you want to be his political and spiritual advisor? Write him a letter and ask for the job.

But recent breakdowns include but are not limited to the Cartoon fiasco, the Nigerian Beauty Contest and all.

Let us not forget that Pope John Paul's attempted assassination by Mehmet Ali Agca a Muslim.

Then we have the whole history of the Catholic Churches central role in throwing Islam into the ditch the last time Islam tried to rule the world.

Tis only by faith that we will win this war...only by faith. The rational secularists are mightily confused by Islam.

I am certainly not qualified but you do seem well qualified for the "condescending Angel" position. My opinions on this forum are just that, my opinions. They are not intended as advice but as my own expressed doubts and concerns. Casting truth on the opinion will either reinforce them or trigger me to rethink them. I read the Pope's speech and I drew the same conclusion as Rush Limbaugh, that the Pope should have used his own words rather than quoting another's. I agree the Pope has taken a "Politically defensible" position on Islam. In my opinion, he has not gone far enough with a direct threat against Christianity.

I can accept the humor, but it was not apparent and thus it was taken as meaningful but unexplained.

The word "umpteenth" is a good catchall phrase for what you intended; and is usually understood to mean latest/last in an indefinitely numerous series.
