The 2006 Alger Hiss Award - "Hissie" Nominations being Accepted!
American Patriot Society ^ | 9/5/2006 | WOSG

Posted on 09/05/2006 3:58:53 PM PDT by WOSG

The Alger Hiss award is a distinguished award given by the American Patriot Society, a high-falutin' name given for a buch of people, which may include you, who happen to believe America is a great country and it's sovereignty and integrity is worth defending (thus, Bill Maher is not a member).

The Alger Hiss award, or the Hissie, is given to that individual or individuals who have done the most in the past year to provide aid and comfort to America's enemies, foreign or domestic.

The award is named after the highest-ranking American traitor in our history since Benedict Arnold, Alger Hiss. Hiss was a Soviet spy in the 1930s and 1940s, while working in the FDR administration in the State Dept. He became a cause celebre for liberals and an icon of the "McCarthy" era, when Whittaker Chambers came public and accused him of being a Communist spy and he denied it. He was convicted of Perjury in relation to the Hiss-Chambers case, but was never convicted of spying. For decades, he was revered as an innocent accused wrongly, until the release of the "Venona" files confirmed his treasonable guilt.

As the war against global terrorism continues, so many of the groups and people who acted in the most unAmerican way during the war against Communist domination are coming back to old, bad habits of giving aid and comfort to our enemies. We have a target-rich environment of treasonable behavior. Yet our nomination committee will ponder and consider closely those few, rare individuals who have done more than anyone else to get the esteemed .. HISSIE.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: algerhiss; award; hiss; terrorism; treason
The Nominations from the floor are open.

Who would be your choice for the 2006 Hissie Award?

This Award will be given in October.

Oh, my ... so hard to pick just one. Can we award it to the DemocRATic Party as a group? I mean, there is Dean, Reid, Pelosi, Murtha, Kerry ... heck, the list of traitors is pretty much all encompassing.

"Pinch Schulsburger and Bill Keller of the NY Treason Times"

Their multiple revelations of secrets would be hard to top ... and they probably already own tuxedos so could show up for the award in a jiffy ... but so many others tried so *hard* to top them....

As much as I'd like to nominate Carter, but given the criteria, I'll have to go with MURTHA.

You nominated Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. I think they are more deserving of the Ethel and Julius Rosenberg Award, which comes with a positively electrifying prize.

"You nominated Mr. and Mrs. Wilson. I think they are more deserving of the Ethel and Julius Rosenberg Award, which comes with a positively electrifying prize."

Well, at the awards event we will have a ceremony of lighting up sparklers to commemorate that particular glorious moment when justice was served to traitors.

"As much as I'd like to nominate Carter, but given the criteria, I'll have to go with MURTHA"

I'm thinking we may need to give Carter the "Lifetime Achievement Award" ... to those who have done the most in their lifetimes to harm America and her sovereign power - and he's such a fool and hound for attention, I'm guessing he'd *show up*.
