Have we been hoodwinked by another false story by the drive-by media? With both BellSouth and Verizon saying they know nothing and have never been contacted by the NSA or handed over any phone records, it looks increasingly possible these reliable anonymous sources that USA Today relied on either didn't know the facts or were intentionally misleading the reporters. Is this the next RatherGate?
It appears another drive-by media attempt to discredit the President and advance the claim that Republicans are trying to usher in a new era of fascism has fallen flat on its face. Claims by USA Today using sources with “direct knowledge of the program” that the NSA has been collecting massive databases of phone calls don’t appear to match with the records of two of the three apparent participants, Verizon and Bell South.

I'm shocked -- SHOCKED.
At first I thought this was a Rove trick. Then I thought it was perhaps possible that NSA has such number links. Then it dawned on me that a lie is the favorite tool of the democrap party, so I put my money on a fabrication for political manipulation of gullible voters. And, BTW, the NSA has been able to cross reference phone records since the mid nineties.
Hey, I can always fantasize that this whole thing is a giant string operation by Rove.

The immigration speech and issue drowned it because more are concerned about it... I don't think that was by design though.
Intentionally misleading sounds like what our famed sources do best. Oh, how special they are...
