Truthfully, this sums it up fairly well for the most part. I was rather undecided as I read this article, because I couldn't help remembering what a huge number of western, non-Muslim women have been "swept off their feet" in exactly the same way as "Ann" was, and mostly to their everlasting regret.
According to all of the "sadder-but-wiser" ex-wives of these men, the initial charm offensive is really irresistible. That should be taken into consideration.
This kind of faulty, blind infatuation is as powerful as it is temporary and illusionary.
Ann is left with a "special needs" child. There is a plethora of incidences (of which you are surely aware), where the "swept off her feet," cast off ex-wife never sees her children again, because they are kidnapped by their fathers and disappear into Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon etc. It is a horrific tragedy, because it continues to happen, which means that the new wives of Muslim men either haven't seen the stories of their predecessors, or they have, but don't believe that it could happen to them.

Ah, the Great Conundrum. Why do nice attractive men go for total bimbos? Why do nice women go for dirtbags? I think it all boils down to the fact that too many people think with their emotions and hormones rather than their brains. But that's just my opinion.
I have neighbors who are (were?) devout Muslims. She always wore a burka. When they left the apartment he would leave first, bring the car to the door and she would quickly get in.
I would see them and say “Good Morning”. He would look at my little dog in fear and loathing. She would bow her head and I swear she would blush.
Slowly things changed. He actually stopped to pet the dog. She would look directly at me and nod. Last week I had a shock. She came out with him, wearing not a burka but American dress. When I said Good Morning she smiled at me and returned the greeting. He also returned the greeting and seemed only slightly aggravated that I acknowledged her presence.
Is Americanization working?

I knew a woman who did the same thing. She thought that a Muslim fella from Morocco was just dandy. She married him and after he became a citizen, he treated her like crap. This gal was a Space Cadet and would have tried to feed a pet rock.
Its even worse than that she said she was a government employee to boot. I am glade that she is sharing here disastrous choices so other people don’t make the same mistakes.

If I may butt in, I noticed that too. This guy was an Arab illegal. While waiting for orders, a sleeper's best cover is always a stupid woman.
It often seems as though, on both sides, folks think that they can "fix" the other person. I had a friend who dated a scummy gal and thought that he could make her "okay." I have known many an otherwise intelligent woman who dated a scumbage thinking that she could "fix" him like Bob Villa with a rundown two-story Victorian mansion. These folks forget that only G-d can fix people. I prefer women who are not "fixer-uppers" and have good self esteem, good humour, firm principles, and good morals.
This type of story is not exclusive to pairing with a Muslim, it is an extreme but not uncommon in any couple with a big cultural and educational gap. But, anytime you marry ANYONE that you do not know, and have not taken the time necessary to make a suitable choice, bad things will happen.
And, I'll add this woman is lucky in that:
1. She's alive to tell the story
2. She's not living in a Muslim country
What is with women and telling tall tales? I don't want to make a prejudicial remarks, but I always take women's gossips with a grain of salt.

They come to America with no money and take advantage of all the programs we offer ... often their family has money and sometimes lots of money. When they are in their own country they live well and can afford things like trips with friends. And like the article said ... when he returned he brought her lots of gold jewelry.
To take leave of common sense and operate out of one's feeling is usually a disaster. However, it is rarely possible to tell that to young, in love, smitten lovers; they let it fall on deaf ears. And "yes" ... they do not believe it will happen to them. Sad.

No one is kicking herself more than "Ann." She is educated and attractive, but sometimes love does make one blind. She wrote this in the hopes of warning others not to make the same mistake she did. I don't know how common it is here, but she says she knows others. She didn't help him become a citizen, but did assist with his green card. Muslims target non-Muslims, not just here, but Egypt as well. Not to marry so much, but to convert. Read "confessions of an Islamist." This is man who has taken his life into his own hands and has now converted to Christianity and spent a long time trying to repair the damage he did. It's quite compelling as well as informative and gives insight into how Islam is "the fastest growning religion" (not)

The one who married the guy from Morocco, soon had an apartment full of extended family and prayer rugs.
I have lost touch with both as they were moving around so much and I have done my share of moving. I do wonder how they made out though.
That is pure bull s**^. She isn't the one failing to provide for a son. She isn't the one who is a cruel, brutal creep who needs his ass kicked into tomorrow. She is a mother who made a bad choice and nothing else.She hasn't dumped her son onto the state by leaving him to the care of others.
