The religion forum is not good enough for this post?
On a related note, what's wrong with the Religion forum?
Not news. I'm not sure what it is, but it's not news.

As an aside, would this not be better in the Religion Forum?
My wife likes Joyce Meyers. Me, I prefer to watch old Billy Graham crusades.
The televising on MSNBC, one might say exposed Benny Hinn. Did you watch it last night?
Paul Crouch is the "Godfather" of this movement.
For entertainment purposes only.
After the televising on MSNBC last night this needs to be exactly where I posted it. This is national news that needs to be discussed here.
"The televising on MSNBC, one might say exposed Benny Hinn. Did you watch it last night?"
I did not. Had you posted from the MSNBC site, it might have been news. From the site you posted, it's Religion. Personally, I don't find Benny Hinn newsworthy under any circumstances.
"After the televising on MSNBC last night this needs to be exactly where I posted it. This is national news that needs to be discussed here."
Then make the initial post from a news source, not a religious blog.
I didn't see it, and probably wouldn't have cared enough to watch either. But, that said, is there a link to a hard news story about the event, or is this just going to be a discussion about whose false prophet is falser than everybody else's?
Ping to me to check later
This is a follow up on what MSNBC did last night. Since it is a follow up and contains a link to MSNBc it should be posted here.
Anyway, What do you care... nobody asked you.
What's that hairstyle called? A Hinn-do?
Check out the MSNBC link that I provided.
"is this just going to be a discussion about whose false prophet is falser than everybody else's?"
Yes, it is, and that's the point, really. If there was a news link, then the original post should have been about the news, not about Benny Hinn calling himself a god. That's not news.
That the link to the MSNBC story was not the original source indicates to me that someone's just flogging a blog, so to speak.
Of course, it's not my decision.
Paul Crouch only carried on after Jim Bakker, remember?
"Anyway, What do you care... nobody asked you."
Perhaps I'm laboring under a misconception here. My understanding was that Freepers could comment on posts. I'm commenting. I don't need to be asked, thanks.
Where is the link?
Mighty "Christian" of you.
Ignore the people who say this shouldn't be here....it is news. Some people have too much time on their hands.
I had seen the special before....I have no problem with them calling out people who take advantage of others, which is exactly what Hinn does.
From the link.
"Now, in a follow-up investigative report on Dateline Sunday, Bob McKeown reported on what happens to some of the millions of dollars sent to the Hinn Ministry by his devoted followers."
Well, that told me absolutely nothing. When you stumble on a hard story, get back with me.
It's down a few messages, but there's really nothing at the linked site at MSNBC. Well, there is another link to the religious blog the orginal post linked to.
Apparently MSNBC did a follow-up story to their 2-year-old Benny Hinn story, this time focusing on financial issues. That's all the info that's available on the MSNBC link.
The poster began the thread with a link to a religious blog that is pointing out that some televangelists think they are gods. That's not news....
My eyes! My eyes!
You seem to be more than just wanting to comment on this thread. After 5 posts on this thread you seem real desirous of having it moved.
You made your point concerning why you think it should be moved, why then do you continue to keep making it?
KidGlock: Mighty "Christian" of you.
Maybe, but probably only half as "Christian" as Benny Hinn.....
There's a special place in hell reserved for hucksters like Hinn et al.
"You made your point concerning why you think it should be moved, why then do you continue to keep making it?"
Because I choose to do so. I'm also answering your posts to me. As far as I'm concerned, this post had no news content whatever, as originally posted. The added link to the MSNBC promo page on the story also had no news content.
From your original post, it's clear that it is only the perception that Benny Hill is a blasphemer that is of interest to you.
The news story had to do with misappropriation of funds by Hill. That's news. The fact that Benny Hill thinks he's godlike is not news. But that's what you led with.
Televangelism is wrought with phonies and charlatans. It gives Christianity and Christians a bad name.
And, Lo! It has been moved.
And the Admin Moderator saw it, and it was good.
As I said, some people have too much time on their hands. They have to bother the Admin. with silly stuff they do not like.
Oh, well, you deal with all kinds on this board.
That site looks pretty shaky to me, though I'm going to look around some more. For example, Liichow seems to feel Kenneth Hagin was unqualified for the ministry because of a lack of seminary training. Well, neither did the apostles (excepting Paul), and Hagin wasn't remotely as important as them. Also, he is making the logic error that saying something happened "because" of an action means that the event could not have occurred without that action...he does this when he quotes Hagin saying that Hagin was saved because of his mother's prayers.
Obviously you didn't get the memo. Only select Freepers are now allowed to comment. You must have been relegated to strictly lurking.
I noticed the apostrophe between the 'h' and 's' on my screen name has disappeared, and I'm afraid it's a sign of things to come for me as well.
You made two posts before I even answered you as to why it should be moved and as to where you thought it should be moved. You answered my reply with two more posts concerning it being moved.
Time for you to take a chill-pill?
Anyway, it was moved but it lasted long enough in the news area for me.
Bye!
Heresy, is tell you. Heresy!
"I noticed the apostrophe between the 'h' and 's' on my screen name has disappeared, and I'm afraid it's a sign of things to come for me as well."
Uh-oh....a very bad sign, I'm sure.
But... it lasted long enough in the news area for me.
Are you still feverishly posting on this thread?
You might just end up posting here more than anyone else.
Yes, you do indeed deal with all kinds on this board, including the likes of MM.
But God willed it to be moved to the bloggers forum. (/calvinism)
I have been writing on FR about these tendencies since last summer -- in Discipleship, the Prosperity Gospel, and Healing Evangelsists.
I will post something longer in another post.
But for the moment I want to talk about th word Anti-Christ.
The word and is an intranslated Greek Word and the Word Christ is also an untranslated Greek word.
The word Anti in english means "against" the Word anti in Greek means "In place of"
We understand the word Christ well enough so I won't comment on that.
In The third Epsitle of John John Says that in his day threre were already many anti-christs, Those would be understood to be in and around the Church at Ephesus where John went to after his release from banishment on the Isle of Patmos.
He was speaking of preachers and churches making themselves out to be Christ's representative on earth.
That is what IN Place Of Christ or Anti-Christ means. Now there will be a consumation with THE MAN OF SIN but these say that the church or your preacher is your source of salvation.
As noted in other posts My Pastor did not die for my sins. My pastor did not supereceed Jesus as the Great shepherd. Benny Hin did not superceed Christ as the door. Kenneth Copeland can not redeem me.
Christ made himself of no reputation -- these men make great reputation of themselves with great swelling words
The little horn in Daniel that is agreed to be the antichrist of revelation. Boasts great things of himself and against God.
In boasting against God He does not have to say I hate God or Don't believe in God. He says I am God's representative on earth, follow me, you can't be saved unelss you go to my church, you can't be saved unless you tithe to me, I am (Little ) Christ.
This is somewhat personal for me becasue my mother started reading books and tapes of the inner life and reported to me some 9 months ago that she worships now the Christ that is within the prays to the christ that is within -- this is an abomination.
John the Apostle said in his day many -- it had become pervasive in the church that teachers were taking disciples after themselves, Paul says that preachers were using enticing words to addict the hearers to themselves instead of Christ.
All good teaching points to Christ -- False teaching exalts men ministries and Chrurches.
I am reading the news forum right now and see all kinds of posts that are not "late-breaking news", but I am not going to complain, I just skip over them if they do not interest me....but some people.....well, you know.
Ignore MM.
So did someone grab you and force you to read this thread? I frequently hear, "doesn't your television have an off button?"
Commenting is one thing, but making pretty much the same comment over and over and over each time (repacking it...wanting this thread to be moved) is needless. But evidently that is what MineralMan is all about.
An additional comment, if I may...I'm still looking around, and
Oops, never mind.
