Looks like David Allen of Plan Nine Publishing might have an open slot on his agenda... although it appears his advances are rather small.

I'm all ears on this Plan Nine Publishing. Hey, I don't really mind small advances since I know that ULTIMATELY the royalties will be HUGE. I am absolutely convinced that a DUmmie FUnnies book, supplemented by lots of related comix stories and illustrations, would be a HUGE hit, especially with young people who normally shun political books.

The fact is that the DUFUs have already been market tested right here on the Web so I know it would be a big hit in bookstores everywhere.

Hmmmm.... I just checked the Plan Nine website. They publish books only as they are ordered. I really want wide distribution into bookstores. Also I know the two cartoonists I have in mind for the comix stories and illustrations to supplement the text would cost at least $10,000. If I pay for that there is not much incentive for a publishing company to push the book. However, if the publishing company advances the money, it is definitely in their interest to market the book. The law of economics at work here.

I do know that it will all end up with one VERY HAPPY publishing company publishing the DUmmie FUnnies and many other publishing companies that will be upset that they didn't get in on DUmmie FUnnies when it was possible to do so.

David Allen and Plan Nine Publishing are the dimwits who helped Bev originally publish her Black Box Voting book, then were demonized by the wench and slandered outrageously in the process. Even I felt sorry for them. Check out this thread on DU for all the gory details.
