What state do you live in? If you live in Florida it wouldn't be a fetish.

He lives in Florida and has the normal amount of interest anyone on the Southern Atlantic or Gulf Coast has.

Miami here. I understand his fetish. My office closed at noon today. After the last hurricane we were closed for a week due to no power or phones. I just hope we will be up and running on Tues. Wish us well.

Been through two this year- have friends who lost their houses in the 3rd - am presently prepping for the 4th...

As to Drudge's "fetish"...I believe he lives here (Florida) and these hurricanes have had/are having national effects.

Never underestimate the value of disasters to sell news!

I lost a tree with Frances, but didn't like the tree any way. It was leaning left; good riddance.

It has been a very stressful hurricane season. The waiting and uncertainty is murder.

It's almost as his fetish for sappy 70's music. How many different cover versions of "Windmills of Your Mind" and "MacArthur Park" can he find? A couple of weeks ago on his radio show he told about how he could sit and listen to music by the cheesy 70's band "Bread" for hours.

That should have read "It's almost as big as his fetish..."

Drudge is a weather geek, that's all. There could be a nuclear explosion in downtown D.C. and he'd still put the hurricane tracking graphic as his top story.

He's big into earthquakes, too.

Drudge is a self-made millionaire. Obviously, he has figured out what his readers are interested in.

Some say Matt was born in a cross-dressed hurricane, some do say.
Yep, some do.
Now OTHERS, well, they say "I remember Matt when he was pretendin' to be a young-un, comin' 'round tryin' to tell our forecasts and a-readin' our fault-lines. And such."
All I know, MYSELF, is that he plays the most godawful bump music I ever heard in my life.
And it goes on forever and ever and ever and EVER.
Yep.

This hurricane season is not unprecedented.

The Dallas Morning News, 09/25/2004:
In 1886, 4 storms walloped Texas
