Whole heartedly agree. We no longer have stomach for conflict and I feel that because since Vietnam, allowing wars to just drag on instead of swift, deadly and destructive fashion, it makes people sympathetic and weak.
A lot of it has to do with the MIC. They don’t want to win wars. To them, it’s all about making money.
Drilling for oil would cost no lives and yet debilitate that regime more than a vast dump of Napalm. Hopefully, alll the while, Greg Thunberg would cry .
If the US just shut up and let Israel handle things , there would be no Iran. They need us only to curry favor from the UN; there is no country better motivated (and pretty darned well equipped) to handle shit than Israel. They never lose.

A wider war seems to be Iran’s hope. So far as I can see, the west is trying to pretend these shipping attacks aren’t a big deal, and expecting the Gaza war will end soon and the attacks will stop.
I think Iran has other plans, and attacking global commerce might be a longer term strategy. Once the Gaza war ends, the goalposts will be moved. The Houthis just need to get lucky once, and our hand will be forced. Meanwhile, we look weak for ignoring repeated attacks.
