By invoking the Holocaust in criticizing President Trump’s words and deeds, critics may believe they are performing a valuable service in raising alarms about creeping tyranny in the U.S.
In reality, they are only helping Trump.
To be sure, critics may not believe Trump is literally the second coming of Hitler, or that we are currently living in a Nazi state. Yet that hasn’t stopped many of them from using their platforms to declare it loudly, write about frightening parallels, send out tweets comparing Trump’s immigration policy to Auschwitz, or from promoting Trump-Hitler memes. Others have simply argued that Trump and his supporters don’t deserve tempered rhetoric....

In general, with non-intellectual types, if you use the comparison, then people will start asking questions. Since high school history has done such a lousy job over the past forty years conveying Nazi Germany, people are confused.
The other angle to this...if Hitler arrived at 2018, how would he handle it? The internet, social media, etc...would have to be controllable, or extinguished (terminated). Hitler was consumed over domination (going way beyond the business sector).

Every time I hear a leftist call a conservative “hitler” I have to laugh. The NAZI party was the National Socialist Workers Party, making it left-wing totalitarian. So, what makes me laugh is leftists trying to smear conservatives by saying they are like leftists. It is like “I hate Trump because I think he is like me.”

Any person who claims Trump, who strongly supports the 2nd Amendment, is using the Presidency to create “creeping tyranny” reveals their extreme ignorance of history and tyranny. Tyrants confiscate firearms, plain and simple. Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Mussolini, on and on the list goes.
Trump? Supports 2A. The polar opposite of tyranny.

Those who portray President Trump as another Hitler show their utter feeble-minded derangement. Hitler ran a fascist, totalitarian state for the purpose and goal of a Volksgemeinschaft. Such a system was based upon the eugenics movement which was a false scientific notion that the human race needs to be genetically perfected through the selective elimination of those who were deemed unfit. All was derived form the misguided interpretation of Darwin’s theory of natural selection. This movement was alive and well in the United States, focusing primarily on Native Americans and its black population as the target for selective elimination from the genetic pool. The Democrats of the South were the primary practitioners of this movement with their formation of the Ku Klux Clan. Margaret Sanger is a practitioner who met with members of the Klan, advocated eugenics, and supported the use of sterilization to rid the planet of the “unfit.”
Hitler merely borrowed the thinking from America’s Clansmen to promote his Volksgemeinschaft. In order to do so, Hitler had to control all forms of communication which gave his government the ability to control popular opinion via propaganda and false news messages. This opened way for the the police and Gestapo to remove people from their homes and send them, often without trial, to concentration camps where they would be eliminated from the genetic pool.
I have only touched on the evil of the Hitler regime. The goodness of President Trump is that he rejects everything that Hitler stood for. He rejects Political Correctness because it seeks a ideological purity which eliminates individuals from their livelihood when they do not meet the standard. Trump’s ideology is one of inclusion for all individuals. America’s Left is an ideology of elimination. I suspect America’s Left would be on the same page as Hitler’s Volksgemeinschaft if they had the free reign they hoped to have if Hillary Clinton were President now.

Reagan was supposed to be like Hitler. The bland and ambiguously libertarian Stephen Harper was widely compared with Hitler by Canadian leftists.
It is a sad commentary on the lack of any intellectual integrity on the left that anyone there could make such absurd comparisons.
If we were to say that Obama was “like Stalin” that would be clearly ridiculous also.
However, what really causes these comparisons is that the far left fears losing their position of control in society, to the extent that they can use an ideology (political correctness) like the Soviets used communism to control acceptable thought and social practice. They fear that a strong conservative leader will begin to uproot their little empires (perhaps I should call them oblasts) and leave them without even the illusion of power or importance.
We have a divided society and about half the population basically rejects their point of view and laughs at their notions of self-importance. But that leaves them with the other half willing to follow their lead.
Hitler invaded the Soviet Union with the intention of bringing communism to an end. That is the real comparison and perhaps taken out of context with all the evil that the Nazis represented, that single aspect is a point of comparison — other leaders pose less of a threat to their power.
I wish people would stop trying to wise up the Democrats. let them keep being stupid and saying stupid sh!t. Only helps our side when they do.
He didn’t see any of that. It was Josef Goebbels who did. He was the only university educated Nazi among them. The man has PhD in philosophy.
