511 just screams “GUN”. My “urban unrest” grab-bag is built into a nice, normal-looking Swiss Gear backpack that looks at-home on campus or in the workplace. I also have a few bags and cases from Home Depot that carry other “tools” as well.

We have a set of the LBE which we use for 3 gun shoots. It doesn’t scream GUN, it screams “GUNS AND A BUNCH OF AMMO!” So far we’ve only worn them at friendly competitions and the annual Zombie Shoot.

But we do have them. And we picked up some gently used Safariland Level IIIA soft body armor a few years back. Bulletproofme.com has some nice stuff at reasonable prices. Service was excellent, too.

We have inconspicuous Go Bags in each of our cars for daily use. A gym bag makes a nice holder and doesn’t attract unwanted attention. The backpacks aren’t camo, jus some decent ones that have 2.5 liter hydration packs built in.

So we are pretty well equipped for the Get Out of Dodge scenario. And if crap ever does get real in our neighborhood, well we have the serious gear set up and ready to go. May God forbid it ever comes to that.

Free Republic is less radical than it was back in the early days. At some point early one JimRob had to ban a bunch of people who were acting the fool. It's been pretty good since then.
