Video taken by a passenger on a Bay Area train shows a man using racial slurs to harass and intimidate another passenger, whom he also repeatedly hits.
Bay Area Rapid Transit Police said they received three calls from riders around 10:10 p.m. Monday, saying a man appeared to be threatening another rider, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Police believe the attacker got off the train before they arrived.
Video uploaded to Facebook, recorded by Wiseley Wu, shows part of the verbal and physical attack.
N.J. man claims he was beaten, taunted with racial slur in NYC The victim, Charles Wu, said the man approached him after he asked him to stop using a racial slur, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
“No one was saying anything and it was a BART full of people,” he said. “I had enough, so I told him, ‘Sir, you need to stop talking.’ ”
The video shows the attacker approach Charles Wu, threatening to punch his teeth in.
The passenger sitting next to Wu gets up and leaves the area.
“I’ll punch you down,” the attacker says, before slapping Wu, who remains calm.
He then calls Wu a “Chinese n-----.”
Similar profanity-laden insults follow, and another passenger is heard saying, “Excuse me!”
Provoked by the man, Charles Wu gets up from his seat, and appears ready for a physical counter-attack, but his fellow passengers urge him to remain calm.
“He’s drunk, man, he’s not even worth it,” another rider tells Wu.
“I don’t like you,” the assailant says to Wu, who’s still standing, before launching his fist at him again.
BART officials are investigating the incident but have not made an arrest in the case.
“We see a lot of crazy things on BART and I thought it’d be over in no time,” Wiseley Wu said. “But it kept getting worse and worse and I never expected to see something like this in front of me, I didn’t know what to respond,” he told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Wiseley Wu said he called police as he filmed the incident.
The situation relaxed once the assailant exited the train, Wiseley Wu said, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
Other passengers were supportive of Charles Wu, patting him on the back once the assailant was gone.
But Charles Wu said none of his fellow passengers tried to quiet the assailant during his tirade.
“Everyone got loud once he got off, saying he’s a disgrace and stuff like that,” Charles Wu said. “During it, I was just angry and frustrated that this guy is saying all this terrible stuff and no one said anything to stop him.”
That idiot has some serious issues.
The Bay Area is not that big.
I suspect that somebody is going to recognize him and expose the name in a matter of days.
I don’t think he’s from around here, acting that way, and at his age. Maybe from San Jose or Vallejo.

The part that amazes me is that all of those bystanders didn’t stand up to the psycho. Tells you a lot about the state of American manhood.
Why I rarely use public transportation. You have to share dirty seats with the dregs.
