Church sexual abuse may have been factor in Pope Benedict's resignation
Herald Sun, news.com.au ^ | February 12, 2013 | Jessica Evans

A Melbourne priest claims the extra strain placed on Pope Benedict from dealing with widespread sexual abuse within the Catholic Church may have been a factor in his resignation.

Father Max Vodola said the elderly Pope's shock exit from the role may be because he is too physically and emotionally weak to deal with the decades-old problem.

It comes as Archbishop Denis Hart leads Victorian tributes to the Pope, who he describes as gentle and loving.

They don’t resign, they go to prison unlike Catholic clergy who flee to the conclave of pedophiles in Rome.

A quote from another article I saw today:

A quote:
Joseph Radzinger, alias Benedict XVI, formerly known as “The Rottweiler” from his role as attack dog for his predecessor Carol Wojtyla alias John Paul II under whose auspices he issued the Criminale Solicitacciones instruction of Pope John XXIII has resigned.

The uncovered instruction ordering the protection of pedophile sex criminal priests and nuns at the expense of not protecting the little children they were molesting and threatening the little victims with hell if they did not keep their being raped secret did not result in a RICO prosecution in the USA depite 177 out 179 American dioceses and their bishops and arch bishops being found liable for massive damages in court.

The Bush Administration squashed civil litigations against Radzinger on political grounds that as a head of state the pope is immune from any juridical or prosecutorial proceedings by International convention.

Similar efforts in the UK to have citizen’s arrests of Radzinger during his papal visit of 2010 were stopped by the British government, thus this gangster who orchestrated an international campaign to shield dangerous child molesters was never brought to justice for obstruction or aiding and abetting fugitives from justice. The systematic rape and sodomizing of small children by Roman Catholic clergy under the protection of the church hierarchy stemmed from Australia and New Zealand to the USA and Canada, to Great Britain, to Germany and beyond, but was found most prolific in Roman Catholic countries such as Ireland, Austria, French speaking Africa, and Brazil.

In his youth Radzinger wore a swastika and fought for Hitler, but went on as a priest and cardinal paying lip service against anti Semitic Jew hatred, yet under his papacy the Vatican has maintained an almost continual anti Israel bias.

Radzinger then went on to become the king of scandal when the endemic pedophilia of Roman Catholicism finally could no longer be hidden and suppressed despite his best efforts to do so.

Even the mafia does not allow its embers to engage in child prostitution, child pornography or pedophilia. It rather takes Radzinger’s Roman Catholic Church to go that low. The largest catch of kiddie porn on record, some 40,000 hours, was at the Roman Catholic seminary near Vienna.

Public school sex abuse? The remedy is to arrest those people involved and take it to court. That should be the case whether they are a teacher, administrator, priest, bishop, pastor, etc. There should be nowhere to hide.

Having said that I take the Pope at his word that he is resigning because he is ... old. The Pope was far removed from specific cases that bishops and cardinals would have handled .. or covered up. This author is just using this to take a cheap shot at the Catholic Church

Gee, TSgt— I can’t help noticing that you seem to make it your business to make an ignorant and bigoted anti-Catholic remark on each thread having anything remotely to do with the Catholic Church. Tell me: is this a full time occupation for you, or are you simply obsessively hateful?

You are a liar.

There are entire websites devoted to bad teachers who mostly all are charged and serve some time.

It is the Catholic church that has the market cornered on shunting pedophiles and the last time I checked public schools were not proclaiming to be the one universal church.

Hateful?

You sound like the homosexual lobby...

I do however hate pedophiles and those who protect them, such as Ratzinger.

Has the Catholic church even solved this problem? I seem to still be reading about incidents of priests abusing little boys. Are they still welcoming gay priests so long as they claim not to act on their homosexuality? Does the church not understand that its clergy have a special responsibility to be upstanding and moral. Having priests that are gay is a pretty terrible idea and it is difficult to understand how the church, from the Pope on down, can’t seem to figure this out.

INT- 5 Steps Pope Benedict should take in the next 2 weeks

Posted by Joelle Casteix on February 11, 2013
SNAP - Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests

By stepping down, Pope Benedict has proven he’s capable of bold action. For the safety of children, in the weeks ahead, we hope he’ll show similar decisiveness and

—discipline at least a handful of current prelates who are concealing or who have concealed child sex crimes,

—insist that every bishop post names of the credibly accused predator priests on his website (as 30 US bishops have done: http://www.bishop-accountability.org/AtAGlance/lists.htm),

—order bishops to actively work with lawmakers to pass stronger child safety measures and reform archaic laws that shield officials who commit and conceal child sex crimes,

—turn over all church abuse and cover up records held by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to local law enforcement and

—halt the canonization of Pope John Paul, so all church employees will see that ignoring or hiding child sex crimes will lead to consequences. The time for promises and policies is over. It is time for decisive action.

Personally, I am so sick of the “Catholic sexual abuse” crap.
I am not Catholic. (disclosure)
The incidence of abuse and cover up is no different than the public at large or other church groups.
These men are not somehow special in the rate, most evidence is that church groups (Catholics included) is actually lower than the general population.
Liberals make me want to vomit......!!!!

It must be a futile plea to get you guys to see in the face of overwhelming evidence that something is wrong. Every single time hard evidence is presented, you cry "Anti-catholic bashing!" You do it every single time instead of admitting the catholic church might have a problem. The popes do not resign. They just simply do not resign, no matter what. Haven't resigned for 600 years. So, why now? A more in-depth reason must be the real motivating factor behind his resignation.

Finally? Hey, at least they were charged! That's more than you can say about your serial pedophile friend Rev. Lawrence Murphy who molested over 200 deaf boys. You know, the guy Ratzinger ignored...
