Top Iowa Conservative: The Republican Civil War has already started

"He [Romney] killed us all over the country. Look at [same-sex] marriage. We've never lost the issue before, until it shared a ballot with Romney then we lost it four times on one day. Heck, we even won marriage in California on Election Day 2008 for goodness sake.

There will never be another establishment candidate like that. Jeb Bush, Chris Christie...those people will never happen. Heck, I think Christie will be driven out of the GOP and be the next Charlie Crist. Mitt just killed Republicans in my home state. People are angry, especially because Matt Drudge and Karl Rove told us it was all in the bag all along, after they got done smearing conservatives in the primary and dumping on Todd Akin.

It's on like Donkey Kong."

I think we also can agree that liberaltarians as they are now known are the natural enemies of conservatives.

Dems had 4 years to prepare for Romney since they checked him out in 2008. For this reason it is not a good idea to pick the losers from last time.

He won by attrition. He had a small but consistent base and knocked down each flavor of the week one by one.

Part of the problem was that Perry really was the strongest alternative but he botched up during the debates and looked like another Dubya. Nobody wanted that again.

“Akin crapped the bed himself.”

And turned himself into a national issue.

Good.

Bring it on. Let’s have a Republican “civil war.”

It’s long overdue.

Check out Mark Levin’s statement on this today:

No, Cain was the best bet but unfortunately, this clown folded like an accordion at a really simple problem easily solved by PR people: issues of infidelity. All he had to do was pull a Clinton and say ‘i messed up’.

I couldn’t sit through that video. Bandwidth issues, basically waiting way too long for Levin to get to the point.

He won by attrition. He had a small but consistent base and knocked down each flavor of the week one by one.

That wasn't the only thing though, remember convention story where the bus circled the convention three times, refusing to let the delegates [from VA?] get to the convention in time to vote on a rule-change? It was about a rule change that benefited Romney; further do you remember the several states where Ron Paul supporters got him in and then the GOP retroactively changed the rules?

Romney wasn't just a liberal, he was anointed and foisted on us.
I, for one, am not disappointed he lost -- for that built on a lie is never stable.

“Who voted for Romney during all those primaries? Ghosts? Democrats? Repubs? Who”

About 35% of the primary voters....yet in most cases Romney got all of the States delegates.

If a primary candidate cant get 50.1% of the vote in a state primary then the delegates shoukld be awarded to each candidate on a proportional basis and the nominee get decided at the convention.

Giving a liberal all the states delegates because he got 35% of the vote was stupid.

What a sour grapes article. Akin blew up himself. Murdoch, did it to himself. Both were leading on their own. Furthermore, Romney won both Indiana and Missouri anyway, so suggesting Romney hurt those guys is a complete joke, they did it to themselves.

Gay marriage in Washington and Minnesota, it was going to pass no matter what. Get used to it, the blue states want it and this is just the beginning. I don’t have to like it, none of us do but that is reality.

Times, they are a changing.

***70% of the primary voters voted AGAINST him, voting for ABR.

I’ve said for a long time that we need to change the primary system. From my home page:

___________________________________________________________________

Here’s how I think primaries should be organized:

My suggestion is basically to hold the first primary in the state that has the highest percentage of GOP votes in the last election, the 2nd primary in the 2nd highest, and so on. 2 primaries a week for 25 weeks, with the last primaries being the suckup-to-the-democrats. And the democrats could easily have their primary schedule the same way, if they wanted.

This way, if a state is 60% republican, there is still incentive for them to get out the vote for 61% republican so they can bump up their state in the primary schedule.

Also: Rotate all the states (even the big ones) through an early schedule so that everyone gets access at some point to the front line.

OR

Let each state bid when they want their primary to take place. The earlier the primary, the fewer the delegates they control according to some logarithmic or steep curve formula.

Second thing is the order of the primaries should be determined by the percentage of republicans in the last vote. The higher the %pubbie, the sooner the state appears on the primary schedule, with a mix of big & little states and our staunchest republican states get to go FIRST. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=862#862
