Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Yeah I could do that.

JR, I agree with and appreciate every single word of this post. I hope that you, like me, and many of us, can reach the point where you say I am not voting for Romney, I am voting against Obama. If Obama is re-elected, we are in danger of losing this Country.

Please don’t let this election tear us apart everyone, we are all on the same team even if we disagree here and there.

Too late.

You bet, Jim, we're all much better off with an abortionist/homosexualist, statist, Stalinist whose love of our Constitution is so great that he uses it for a doormat.

Yep, Jim, GREAT CALL! /rolleyes

True, but it was also Ryan’s choice to take the position when offered.

Maybe someday Ryan will be at the top of the ticket. At least I can support Ryan for VP now.

I agree. Romney is extremely disturbing.

The way I see it though is as two opposing armies, preparing for battle. One side’s leading general is only just slightly less odious than the other’s. But if you go and join some other partisans somewhere you’ll miss the battle—and make the victory of the most wicked general more likely.

For something like 200 years now a 2 party system has been functionally what America has got. The Democrats are, more often then not, the party of criminals.

Social conservatism has a fighting chance with Romney—and NO CHANCE with Obama. If Obama wins, I honestly expect to see opinions like that of Mr. Cathy of Chick-Fil-A fully criminalized—as is already happening in Canada and Europe. Churches will be directly targeted, and with another couple Supreme Court justices needing appointment...if that is Obama, he will certainly appoint totalitarians. Mitt MIGHT...but at least there’s a fighting chance he won’t.

Both economic AND religious liberty, along with freedom of speech, not to mention the 2nd Amendment, will be destroyed in another 4 years of Obama, and we will have a totalitarian state.

Even if Romney is the same kind of lying squish he was in Massachusetts...it cannot be anything near the calamity of an Obama 2nd term.

Ryan was a great pick because he gets under Obama's skin in a way that no other VP pick did.

I look forward to the day in January when Ryan waves goodbye to Obama as the helicopter takes him back to Chicago.

Thank you, Jim. We appreciate knowing what you’re thinking as events unfold.
It’s tense here. I see support for Romney, and the only thing that keeps me even-tempered is that it’s your site, not mine, and your decision to tolerate them. I suppose that’s practical and all, but I’m glad I’m not calling those shots.
Same with anti-Mormons. They offend someone and you have to decide.
I’d be lopping off accounts every couple of minutes, and eventually have no visitors left.
We’re all cranky, seeing Romney coasting to a position he does not deserve.
Here in FR the buck stops at your desk. It’s good to hear you manage to stay principled and (presumably!) calm in spite of the situation we face in 2012.

“If more conservatives felt like Jim Robinson, we wouldn’t have these frauds and usurpers begging for our adoration and votes.”

We had/have a primary season. Our people did not come out on top like I or you would have liked. There are only two viable candidates left standing. I will choose Mitt because I don’t want our country to go down the same road a Greece.

I don’t much care about Romney being a Mormon.
Mormons may not be my bag, but at least he isn’t a Muslim like Obama.

I don’t like Romney at all and didn’t vote for him in the primary, if there was anyone else out there with a chance of winning they would have my vote.

There is no one.

It’s Obama or Romney. I choose to get rid of a man who hates me, hates my wife and family, and is turning our country into a debt ridden , haven for perverts, and ne’er do wells who refuse to work.

Yes I will vote for Romney ,I have no choice.

Also, Robert Bork is on Mitt’s advisory team on judicial appointments, and that’s, hopefully, a good thing. Right?

I agree about Mormonism, however, that will be determined when they stand before God. In the meantime, I do not see them as ANY threat to the USA whereas I see Athiest/Islamists as a deadly threat. I would vote for my cat over Zero, and I will campaign for Romney-Ryan.

Of course Mormonisn is a hustle. Romney and Reid calling each other liars and tax cheats shows how much Mormonism means to them.

Mormonism is not going to rule America if Romney gets elected.

The alternative is Obama. We have to hold our nose and support Romney, he’s the only game in town that can save us from the liberal ruling class that is getting more entrenched in DC bureaucracy every day.
