There were a lot of complaints about it then. I know my mom thought it was twisted. I think people put too much extra thought into things to make them offensive. It’s a cake, in the 80s it was a cake that looked like Alice in Wonderland, this one is a cake that looks like a Sambos style caricature, this one doesn’t even look like a real person.

What I see is an Artist expressing his art with a cake and himself. Art isn’t just a Rembrandt, a Goya or a Monet any longer. Too me it looked like a Zombie cake.

It was a protest by an African guy about the African practice of female genital mutilation. The “artist” is the guy in blackface screaming.

I *knew* music had changed, that day.
His sound was so unique and incredibly different from what was being played during the late 70’s/early 80’s that it was kind of an epiphany.
