Larry Sinclair Passes Drug Test

Larry Sinclair's drug test came back earlier than expected. He was tested for any and all chemical substances including illegal drugs that could cause an inaccurate polygraph test result. There were no traces of any such substances found.

We are awaiting for the second polygraph expert to verify the original results and should have an answer by Monday. Video of the polygraph exam will be posted shortly.

Just because a person passes a polygraph test doesn't mean a thing because people can be trained to pass polygraphs. I can imagine a Buddhist Monk in perfect tranquility being the perfect candidate. In order to pass a polygraph test you must control your heart rate and breathing rate, there are people that can lie with out missing a beat.

While it’s possible to fake a test, it’s not as simple as most would like to believe. The main ways are drugs (apparently ruled out), an abnormally high baseline (which can be spotted by a decent examiner) and by being a psychopath (how a guy like Ted Bundy was able to pass).

There is a reason that polygraph tests are commonly used by law enforcement even though they are generally not admissible in court.

You don’t have to be a zen master. Every test has control questions — something like “have you ever taken office supplies home?” that provoke a guilty response. Learn to spot the control questions, put a tack in your shoe, and you can generate a stress response to the control questions. That way, you can mask the lies.

Some of us are chomping at the bit for Larry to be certified as passing the lie detector test with flying colors. At that point the story would become very difficult for the socialist “mainstream” Democrat press to continue spiking. Even Drudge might finally get the stones to run with it.

How many have you cheated?

Actually we had A psychology class in college where they showed how they work and all the false assumptions they make about them. Our teacher had videos of people who essentially passed the tests even though they said they were women instead of men, etc. They make the assumption that nervousness is related to being dishonest which varies greatly among the population.

When they hooked me up I basically pegged the thing on every question he asked, true or not.

They can be used as investigative tools since they are just another intimidating interrogation technique which some people respond to and other do not. But they prove nothing. There is a reason they are not allowed in court.

In fact, early on (two or three weeks ago?) when this story started to break I posited the theory that the whole thing could be a setup by the Obama campaign, the same way the Kerry campaign planted the bogus rumor about an affair between Kerry and an intern named Alexandra Polier (remember her?).

The idea is to leak an outrageous rumor about your candidate that you know you can utterly destroy as an untrue and malicious smear attempt whenever you want. If your opponents take the bait and proceed to go on a feeding frenzy, you embarrassingly smack them down at just the right moment and thereby immunize your candidate from any further llegations of scandal (including the true ones!).

It’s definitely a good thing that McCain and the GOP have not bitten, and it’s no surprise that the socialist “mainstream” Democrat newsrooms haven’t taken the bait, but we here at Free Republic can at least get ahead of the curve and HOPE! It’s harmless... Why not? If Larry is a fake and the story turns out to be a dud, oh well.... No biggie. It’ll all be forgotten in a week.

Meanwhile.... MAN, AM I HOPING LARRY IS FOR REAL!!

I'd probably peg it too. As closterphobic as I am, just sitting down with any sort of wires attached sends my heart rate soaring - heck, If I was in the middle of a test and someone moved in between me and the door, that would do it.

I would think it'd be alot harder for a crim to not set one off, but i've met so many accomplished liars (MANY years in sales, for one thing), they could have just as easy a time as I would an impossible one.
