Patrick Henry is the kind of nutcase who can get us tossed in the pokey for civil disobedience.

 

How dare we question the motives of someone who's living with another woman while working to end the life of his wife - with the help of a Judge who gave this caring husband permission to cremate his wife upon her death after sealing medical records and disallowing video that proved Terri is not in a PVS, after sentencing an innocent, disabled woman to death  - more than once - without ever bothering to meet her in person.

Until he honestly accounts for himself, I believe this thread is a pernicious effort to curtail anonymous speech, done anonymously, through possibly a second pseudonym.

How does posting an explanation of the libel laws serve to curtail speech, save possibly for curtailing libelous speech?

If people didn't have to be so careful with their speech, then why is it that journalists in print and on television always used the words "alleged" when talking about a victim or a suspect?

Except in the case of Rush Limbaugh of course. Dan Rather blatantly said he was buying drugs illegally, no alleged at all.

I still though respectfully believe that CP being OPH is an issue here, considering the potential impact his attempt here to silence critics might have on the Forum. I will not type CP and FRN in the same sentence again after this, but unless told otherwise, I do believe that OPH being CP and trying to stifle speech through this thread is fair game.

It is important because if Chancellor Palpatine was OPH it means he is being protected.

I don't care why he would be protected. I just want to know when I'm talking to a blowhard like CP that a mere whack up the side the head will not get his attention...and it is pretty clear from his silence that he knows how to duck.

We know there are some protected species and that is ok. We all have batty old aunts in the attic like Deb and Howlin...but, they do not claim to be lawyers. and having lost an argument give a lecture on defamation.

I am not a lawyer, and I don't play one on television, but I believe that the amount of times Internet message board posters have been sued under Florida law by individuals for libel is quite minute, shall we say?

So what was the point of putting this up? Chancy was just trying to give his opponent a heads up because he was so concerned about their welfare? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

I disagree with the pulling of the thread. OPH put it up, and his "opinion" and standing for it has been challenged quite openly.

Why remove that. I thought that is what this site was all about. Challenging ourselves and our positions. I say let her run her course!

Maybe OPH is at this moment hard at work writting a rebuttal to the questions sent his way. Or perhaps he is at the bar chasing skirts. Either way, he posted it let him defend it.

There are questions and answers to those questions on this thread that have been asked in other areas and incinuated for months. Let them see the light of day.
Nothing like a good airing of the truth answer the questions of distrust.

I find it hilarious that a lawyer would post anything in an attempt to admonish others to be careful as regards to "the law". Lawyers seem to be very adept at subverting, twisting and bending "the law" to suit their own purposes.
